Need some clarification

I've been doing some more reading on the forums (cause lets face it, studying can be quite boring) and I think I understand WILD.

From my understanding it looks like you go to sleep for awhile (to take care of your physiological need for sleep) then you wake up. After waking, you go back to "sleep" while trying to remain conscious, and thus a lucid state?

If I have the "theory" nailed, I will definitely give it a try (since I don't sleep much anyway).

Lemme know if I'm right.

You've got it perfectly. Actually, you go to sleep for 5-6 hours first to get yourself to the stages of sleep with quality, lengthy REM periods. That way, you WILD into those periods.
There are plenty of tutorials around to help you. Clairity's WILD tutorial is superb, and there's a few other which I don't know by name.

Before you go to bed tell yourself to RC if you're doing homework. Hey, if it's going to happen anyway, why not get a lucid out of it?

You've got it down, besides the difficulty of it actually being done.

It's one of the hardest techniques for me but i'll try to give some pointers on staying conscious:

-After you find a comfortable position, dont move again, no matter how uncomfortable it gets
-disregard the uncomfort, pay attention to your CEVs and staying conscious
-pay attention to your breathing
-keep repeating to yourself that you will ld, and that you are conscious
-when CEVs get more vivid, keep in mind that you are lying in bed, but try to create your dreamscape.
-it's really all you from there, because this is the transition phase.

keep a dream journal too, and do RCs when your awake. You might find that WILD is not the best technique for you. I dont know your LD experience or anything though.
