How Old Were You When You Had Your First Lucid Dream?
I was in the third grade. I had been having the same nightmare for weeks(sometimes more than once in a night). My poor mom was worn out from staying up with me and she kept telling me that it was just a dream. Dreams are my world and I could do anything that I wanted to make that monster go away. Here is the dream where I made him go away.
Barnabus Collins was in my room.(for you younger people Barnabus was a vampire on a tv show called "Dark Shadows") I stood up and told him that he was in my dream and he couldn't hurt me and then I spit tobacco juice right in his eye.
I never saw Barnabus again after that night.
My (rather large) little introduction.
I'm a rather new here, but-
For all my life I've pretty much had lucid dreams. Not all the time, but I can't remember when I started, it was that early.
As a child I used to love storybooks of fantasy and such, so when I read them or when I was in bed waitinf for sleep, I would set things up in my mind like a little movie reel, with my being the main character. Though they sometimes went into the dream, it was never really significant.
Other times (and I'm understanding this part is lucid dreaming) I would be in that stage where I'm sort of awake but not really. And I'd know it was a dream and I'd fix it to where I won.
Though one dream in particular bugs me still. I had a really horrible nightmare one time, and I woke up from it, like, WIDE awake. But- it was still there (pulsating gore) sort of transparent (I could see my pillow underneath it, and the floor and wall and such.) and moving. I tried to close my eyes and open them again- it didn't work. I prayed really hard afterwards, and after a few minutes the gore was just- gone. Like it had never been there.
That isn't lucid dreaming, is it? I mean, I was awake, but I could still see it, and I couldn't control what I saw. I have no mental issues or odd psychosis. So I know it wasn't something along those lines..
