First lucid try
Hey, i saw something on TV last night talking about this whole lucid dreaming. It was interesting because after dreams i had, i would think about them and end up asking myself, "Man, i wish there was some way i could control what happened in dreams."So i went on the internet and searched up on it and ended up here. So i checked out the tutorials and whatnot and tried to do it last night.
So i tried counting my breaths as i laid down, and ended up falling asleep anyway and not realizing. Anyway, since i didn't know i woke up, i tried it and by the time i would count to about 90 my body started feeling numb.
Then my heart started beating a lot faster, now i don't know if it really was or it just seemed like it, but it would do this and i would try to calm myself. I would also start breathing faster. After about 40 breaths it would slow down, but by this point the feeling of my arms being numb would become so apparent that i had to move, which i guess broke whatever concentration i had.
So what I'm asking is was i doing it right? Like was i actually getting close to doing it? Because i got to that heart rate increasing stage about 3 times, and each time i ended up moving afterwards because the numbness was bothering me.
Thanks

Yes, you were close. :) Both the heart rate going up and the body feeling numb is normal when doing a WILD. It can feel a bit scary at first, but keep doing it, and you might find yourself consciously falling into a lucid dream.

Welcome to the forum!
Yeah it sounds like you were on the right path! Just make sure to record your dreams down with a dream journal! Although yeah I think you were pretty close, well done and good luck for future attempts.

Thanks guys.
I laid back down after i had woke up,about 2 hours afterwards, and i got to the point where my heart started beating faster again. I get this weird feeling in my body i cant really describe, but then it goes away. Once it goes away, it seems like i can lay there all day and nothing happens.
So am i getting too excited and messing up or is it supposed to do this, because last night I got to that point 3 times, and all 3 it went away and it seemed like nothing happened afterwards.

Hm... that same thing happens to ME every time I try entering a Lucid Dream like that. (It is called WILD'ing if you wanted to know. ;) ) If anyone has an answer, then it would benefit both of us. :D
By the way, welcome to Dreamviews Johnny!

Well i just woke up and after that i laid back down and had this weird experience. I got this feeling of fast motion and i saw the room i was lying in like i was sitting up even though i wasnt.I could feel the blankets werent over me and that i was looking sideways and forwards really fast like a tape on fast forward. But the really weird thing was that i was absolutely sure i saw a road sign or a construction sign leaning on top of the couch, a yellow one, although i couldn't make out what it said.
Now while this was going on, while i could see the room, i opened my eyes, thinking i was in the dream. I opened my eyes under the blankets, and here i am.
So what exactly just happened here? Was that road sign a dream sign, and was that a really short wild or what? Like if i had kept my eyes closed, would i have been in wild?
