Hey, this may be an easy thing but I have been trying to keep from swallowing while trying to induce an LD. is it ok to swallow when trying to WILD or does the muscle movement of swallowing basically reset my time frame. And does anyone have like a way to keep themselves from needing to swallow or does it even matter?
Swallowing was something of a distraction for me last year when I was trying to AP. Firstly, I stopped brushing my teeth so close to bedtime (as this stimulates saliva production). And secondly, I started laying on my side instead of my back (which helps prevent saliva from running to the back of the throat and triggering the need to swallow).
thanks ill give that a try tonight. i was lying on my back just because it was easier to concentrate for me since i sleep on my side, but ill see if that helps at all.

It's complicated. Some people say you should swallow, because not swallowing distracts you. Other people say you mustn't swallow because it will, like you said, reset your timer to SP. I'm of the opinion that you shouldn't. You shouldn't move at all. I've tried propping pillows up so my head is elevated and I'm less likely to need to swallow, because laying on my side pretty much puts me to sleep.
The other people may be right too. They must have tried it out and found that they could still WILD even though they swallowed. I guess it just depends on what method you're using and your own personal style.
If you can, sleeping on your stomach might help as well. I had a couple of my best WILD's while sleeping on my stomach.
