A new ozzy guy
hey dreamers, my name is chris im 20 and live in Adelaide, Australia.
Im fimiliar with dreams but am new to LD.
I was recently adopted by gameover, so now im starting my journey.
I tried a WBTB for a LD this morning, set my alarm last night for 3am, woke up then did my first written dream recall(normal dream) then i watched "WAKING LIFE" and read abit of info on Dr. stephen LaBerge's M.I.L.D technique, then after about 90 mins i rolled back over and went to sleep trying "Game Over's" method of WBTB for a LD, but unfortunately when i awoke later this morning i never had a dream at all :( but i may have but not rememberd......
Any ways if there is anyother Newbies who are about at the same stage as me,feel free to contact me (or anyone for that matter) till then peace

dont expect to have a lucid dream within your first week of trying for one!
if you keep a steady pace, and dont try TOO much they will normally come after about a couple of weeks, maybe more if you arent as keen.
but dont get me wrong, trying too hard can work against you,so if after a week of solid trying for a LD you havnt had one, just relax for one night, turn your alarms off and have a normal rest. dont try to MILD or do a WBTB,just rest normally.
actually thats what brought about my first LD,so try it yourself!

thanx Damascus
yeh, i am mainly focusing on my dream recall and Reality checks at the moment, i was just seeing if it would work first go, but i wasn't dissapointed at all becoz i knew that things dont happen overnight...lol and its only been a few days since i started ..im in no rush.
But thanx for the reply Damascus...
If you have any other newbie tips much appreciated...
And YES i have read the tutorials if anyone is wondering. i have read just about every word in the main page....

With WBTB, 90 minutes is the recommended length of time for staying awake, but for everyone it's a little different. Try different lenghts of time ranging from 45-90 and see if that works better. I stayed up an hour and that gave me my first (short) true LD. But yah, don't stress.

Hey xzadurate Great to have you here.... Welcome!!!
It sounds like you are focusing on the right things. Dream recall and reality check are a great way to start. w00t you read the tutorials!!! Anyway one time I had a great LD after being awake for about 2 hours so I agree that it is different for every dreamer! I hope to hear about your first LD soon!!
Remember we are here to help!
Sweet Dreams :dreaming:

thanx for the tips
cool. Thanx for the tips. i has a really wierd (normal) dream last night.
I just sleep normally weekends, so i wasn't trying to LD and i dreamt of meeting someold guy with a grey beard and he was wearing a BEANIE!!!!!!
and he said that "my dad IS his dad" and we got talking about it...and i think i may have dreamt of meeting myself as an old man....?????? I was almost 1/2 lucid i think,
I also had a false awakening that same night.......bizzarre
So i think i had MORE RESULTS not trying at all?? :D :P
