help for a newbie?!
Ok, I'm really confused! Last night I was dreaming, realized I was dreaming (not sure how, I just said wow I must be dreaming) but then it was weird! I was in "3rd person view" like I wasn't in my body, I was watching the whole thing take place! I couldn't control anything even though I realized I was dreaming. I have never had a lucid dream before (besides this thing) and I would like some help plz!

This has been my problem when I have tried to gain lucidity in dreams. Usually what happens for me is I will realize that I am in a dream, and even rationalize decisions that I make in the dream based on this (ex: It is okay for me to get into a knife fight with this man right now, I am only dreaming). However, I quickly lose that slight bit of control I have, and go back to just regular dreaming.
From what I have read, the way to counter this is to just focus. The biggest challenge is getting a dream and then realizing that you are infact dreaming. After that, you just need to drop everything you are doing in the dream, and take steps to ensure you are completely aware you are dreaming. Try and devoid yourself of what is going on in the dream, and start fresh. Do not let yourself get distracted with something, or you will quickly forget that you are dreaming and will no longer be lucid.
I hope that my explanation can be of help to you, good luck with your future LD attempts!

Himikey10293, my advice would be to calm down once you realize you are dreaming, then begin to experience the dream world around you as a physical person. You will most likely develop your dream body this way, which will keep you from going 3rd person all the time.
Good luck, and happy lucids! :)
