Hello, I have some questions...

Hi all. I've had a "dry spell" for weeks now, so I was searching the Internet for dream induction techniques, and found this site. Firstly, hi, and please let me tell you that I think it's nice to find other people who share a fascination of the world of dreaming.

Secondly, I have some questions. As I mentioned, I've been having a dry spell. I haven't had a proper dream for weeks, let alone a lucid one. The best I had was a very hazy recollection last week.

I think this may be because of either 1. I am quite stressed just now, or 2. I have stopped taking Melatonin. I was prescribed it last year, and I only stopped a few weeks ago. (I don't like using medicine.) I read on this site that some medicines can help inducing dreams. I couldn't find much more information on this, so I thought I'd ask. So, has Melatonin been proven to induce dreams of any kind, and does eating cheese before bed really help?

Just to clarify, Melatonin actually suppresses dreams. The reason that lucid dreamers like it so much is because of the fact that if you suppress your early dreams, the amount of time and energy that your body would normally put forth to those dreams, get tacked onto your later dreams, making them longer and more vivid. The later dreams are the only ones where most people get lucid, so that's ideal.
