Natural- but is there more? astral projection?

The very first time i ever had a lucid dream, and i'd never even heard of it before, i was able to control my dream. I was at school and i thought to myself, "oh my god, this is a dream. that means i can do whatever i want!" So i went and pretended to makeout with a wall (it was pretty hilarious). Then my teacher saw me doing it and i got really embarrassed so i forgot it was dream.
My biggest problem is staying lucid, which i'm work on thanks to this site. =] So feel free to give some tips.
Anyhoodles, my question happens to be: I read in a book that lucid dreaming is astral projecting. I'd really like to contact fearies this way, but i'm not quite sure how to approach this. If anybody can help me out, i'd luv that. =] Thanks!

First of all, welcome to dreamviews. :)

Second, I don't believe astral projection exists. However, we do have a section dedicated to the discussion of said topic, as well as any other paranormal exercises, the Beyond Dreaming section.

As for your first problem, it sounds like you need to stabilize your dream. For more infor on that, read through our tutorial on the subject.

Based on what I read, people who prefer mystic approach, by using term "astral projection" usually mean WILD-induced dreams with high level of stability and low level of direct control over dream surroundings.

Actually, astral projection is used to project your conscience into the astral plane, thus, why it's called astral projection.

I personally don't believe in it, but hey, w/e floats your boat.

Phenomenon is the same, interpretation is different. I've just translated term "astral projection" to lucid dreaming language.

Hey Tiki :D Sounds like an awesome lucid, that feeling of "haha, I can do whatever I want!" is so awesome :tongue: Like No-Name said, the stabilization tutorial should help get you on the way to learning to staying lucid in your dreams :) And, for topics that are not really about lucid dreaming, but paranormal things, the Beyond Dreaming forum is the place to go.

There's a huge difference between falling asleep, having a dream, and knowing you're dreaming and everything is inside your own head (you KNOW and are AWARE it's all merely a dream)... and then thinking that you've exorcised yourself from your body and are literally floating around on a completely different plane of existence. If you wanna go sort that out with the BD folks, please take it to the BD Forum.

Well, there is no problem, is there? He/she asked a question, I've answered it to the best of my knowledge using lucid dreaming paradigm and lucid dreaming terms (which is I believe acceptable in Lucid Dreaming section). At the other side, it was not me who brought the astral topic up but topic starter, and if moderators think that topic should be moved to BD, or split it, or something, they have every right to do it.

All he had was a question. We don't even know if he believes in such topics, it was only a question. No need to do anything to the thread, other than move it to the newbie zone. :)

If you are interested in Astral Projection, be sure to research Wake Initiated Lucid Dreams along with it. There are a lot of similarities and overlaps. Just remember, it is your mind, your dreams, so you can explore it and interpret it however you want. Don't get too locked into someone else's rules or limitations.

If you want to stay lucid, try doing reality checks every once in a while just to get your mind back focused that you are dreaming.

Thanks everybody for your input. I'll check the other forums you suggested. I really appreciate you taking to your time to answer my questions the best that you can. =]
I'd like to say, just for the fun of it, I'm a she. Lol. And also, I'm really unsure if I believe in astral projection. I don't think so... but I do believe in astral beings. =]
