      Based on what I read, people who prefer mystic approach, by using term "astral projection" usually mean WILD-induced dreams with high level of stability and low level of direct control over dream surroundings.

      Actually, astral projection is used to project your conscience into the astral plane, thus, why it's called astral projection.

      I personally don't believe in it, but hey, w/e floats your boat.

      Phenomenon is the same, interpretation is different. I've just translated term "astral projection" to lucid dreaming language.
