Need help please!!!
Hey guys! I'm a newbie and I've been reading about lucid dreaming for a few nights I'm extremely interested in this. I have a few problems though. I've read the induction techniques but it's still not helping. Like I have ALOT of trouble going to sleep. It takes me hours to fall asleep. So if anyone can help this it would be great. Second question is that once I'm actually asleep I don't even have dreams. I just see black for a couple seconds then I wake up to the morning. It's really frustrating and weird. So if anyone has tips or something for that then it will be greatly appreciated. My final question is, Does taking melatonin tablets help induce lucid dreams?

The biologists say that everyone dreams. And everyone needs to dream, those who don't dream end up dying. It's pretty sure you're having them, you just have amnesia about it afterwards. Before you get to lucid dreaming, you need to take the small step of remembering in the morning what dreams you had. Keeping a dream journal would be good if you could somehow get to the point where you're aware that you have been dreaming.
-
Yea start keeping a dream jornal, everytime you wake up write down what you dreamed about, even if you barely remember it just write it down.
I know this is going to sound a little weird, but trust me it will work. Next time you go to bed, while your falling asleep just repeat over and over again in your head "I will remember my dreams tonight". Repeat that over and over again, eventually you will fall asleep. I guarantee you when you wake up the next morning, you will remember your dreams. It's very strange, but its like you're programming your subconscious.
Once you can remember at least two dreams every night, then you're ready to start doing some Lucid Dreaming techniques.
Best of luck

Oh my goodness. I actually remembered my dream from last night. I woke up twice but it's still fine. I wasn't lucid though but I'm still excited!. I remember having two dreams. I'm confused with one though because I was in a kroger and it was really hard to breath for some reason. Do you think I might of had my mouth covered with something? ALSO I had been having reality checks for the whole day and I was remembering to do them, but I didn't remember to do them in my dreams for some reason can anyone tell me how that happened.
-
Ok I've started a dream journal and I'm doin more reality checks now what do I need to do.
-
That's pretty much it for starters :) Just give it a few weeks with your dream journal and regular RC's and see what appears in your dreams most often. You should have your own personal dreamsign/s to look out for, be it, location, people, objects etc. It's fun to spot your own one and then remind yourself before sleep that you will look for that dreamsign whilst asleep and realise you're dreaming.
-
Yeah like I've had a dream journal for about a month now and I haven't really known what to do after that. Like how to get lucid and stuff. Do you think you could tell me the steps to doin it. Also could youpost the link for different ld initiating techniques I seem to have lost it.
Thanks,
Nathan

Try laying still for a while after you wake up, you do dream, you're just forgetting them. IF you lay still for a while, they should come back to you.
-
If you have trouble falling asleep, maybe stick to DILD techniques or the DEILD version of WILD.

I'm so surprised I was dreaming last night and I had a reality check because I dreamed that I was in a plane crash. And I did the breathing with the nose closed thing. And I could still breathe it was awesome. I woke up soon after though but it's cool. I finally was lucid though
-
Yeah. Everynight you dream, its just that you are forgetting them in the morning. Laying still upon waking up is the best way to remember your dreams in the morning.
About your problem getting to sleep: Do you drink a lot of caffeinated drinks before bed? are you stressed? Do you think way too much about stressful things before you fall asleep?
Try clearing your head before you call it a night; lay down, and just focus on the "here and now". don't think about tomorrow's duties. Have you ever considered meditation?
-
No I havent really thought about meditation. It's cuz I have hard times concentrating sometimes. I would like to learn how to though.
