Regardless of length, what happens after a LD is the same as what happens after a non-lucid, you usually either wake up or the dream ends and you just keep sleeping. There's also the possibility of losing lucidity during the dream for one reason or another.
Or, you would could never leave the dream and live inside it for the rest of your live!!!
...Just kidding:lol:
duuuuuuude I WANT THAT!
Many things can happen after a LD. Like stated above, you can wake up, go into another dream, keep sleeping, enter a False Awakening.. I've actually been able to toss myself into another dream and False Awakenings before when my LD's have begin to fade. As the LD is fading you just tell yourself that you will enter another dream.. Sometimes it works, and sometimes you end up in bed awake.. Or you end up in a False Awakening.. That is why it's a good idea to do a reality check each time you wake up.. You never know what will happen when it comes to dreams!

yeah either all of the above or you die. some ppl die from their first LD that's why so many newbies don't return
You know, scaring away new people from lucid dreaming by making false statements is not a good thing. Are you aware of that?
i get the feeling that this was probably discussed more than it should have been. I go with supernovas answer
