I'm new :D
Ive never tried lucid dreaming before though I can control my dreams a little by thinking of a story I make up when im falling asleep and it turns into a dream. I usually dream about horror stuff and want to try to control it so I can make it less freaky. :)

Welcome to DV! We talked a bit in the chat, but if there's anything else you're curious about, just ask. I know it's a lot of acronyms flying at you when you first look at the tutorials. A great one that explains a lot of them really quickly is BillyBob's overview of induction methods:

You can use lucid dreaming to make your dreams less freaky. Also, I'd love to read some of the stories you make into dreams...we have a dream journal section here, if you want to start posting some of your dreams. :)

What you're doing is dream incubation and it's a great asset to have when trying to lucid dream. I once incubated a dream where I was in a room with a giant RC written on the wall. I immediately did a reality check and became lucid :D

Haha, isn't it amazing how far you've come?

It's nice to bring up a thread like this, but it died a few years ago so there's not much else to add to the discussion.
Mancon will definitely see this and look back, I'm sure of it.
