MILDs in the long term?
Hey guys, I have a question. Can you lucid dream frequently(after months of practice) with MILD. I feel like everyone likes to use WILDs alot more then MILDs(Im guessing WILDs are much more successful),and I honestly prefer the MILD technique at this point because Im still a begginer, so it got me curious how successful MILDs are. So basically will MILDs get me sufficent lucid dreams in the long run(after alot of practice of course). This was just in the back of my head for awhile and I had to get it out. Thanks for the help.

Yeah, I'm too lazy to WILD-I need my 8 hours!! So, I'm a MILDer...and it works well, so far. Haven't really tried LD mantras yet, but from what I hear, the more you MILD, the more it becomes repetitive habit; ergo, if you MILD frequently and faithfully, it'll just become a part of the routine, without you even having to try. MILDs work through mnemonics-memory tricks. So, if you truly memorize something down to the subconscious level and practice it every night, it'll get easier and easier, until you theoretically don't even have to think about LDing to have one. Of course, this can take months, if not years, to succeed, but it is well worth it. :D
I think most people prefer WILDs because they offer consistent and instant results, with little effort. However, they require constant work. Sure, it'll become habit to just wake up after 6 hours to try for a WILD, but it still means getting up. :P I don't have that kind of time or energy. Patience, I have, so I MILD...it's all about finding the right technique for you.

Yeah Marios is correct. You could master any induction technique and became a very good lucid dreamer with it. Any technique takes practice and experience. Its just like anything in life, you can ALWAYS get better. Good Luck with your MILDing btw! I prefer WILDing, because it directly sends me into an LD with no effort, but to stay consciously aware, plus SP is crazy and I like crazy, lol.

I think SLaberge was pretty much able to induce LDs at will using MILD so, in the short term, it has a feel of relying on chance about it, but in the long term LDs are close to guaranteed. I hope.
I'm not sure what to do with my affirmations in the long term using MILD. I don't know if I still have to affirm, "I'll wake up and remember my dreams" at the start of the night and "I'll realise I'm dreaming" after WBTB or if I only use the latter, or both (does using two affirmations at once make them cancel each other out?)

Thanks guys, this really answered some questions that have been bothering me for awhile. I will continue to practice MILD as I prefer it over others,(as I am a student so MILD is reccommended for me) Thanks.
