Grats on your first lucid. The dreaming spinning and rubbing your hands together technique always does wonders.
Wow, congrats on your lucid! And Welcome to Dreamviews!
A lot of members would be jealous of you for getting a lucid dream so quickly. And flying, to boot. I think flying is probably something just about everyone does in those first lucid dreams. Keep checking you hands, and dream on. ;)
Oh--by the way, we have a section on here for dream journals, so you can start posting your dreams where other people can read and comment on them. :D
thanks you guys! :)
I haven`t had another yet, possibly I`m a lil too anxious, possibly stress, lol, either way, I`ll get it eventually.
yea the spinning definitely kept me where I was for long enough to realize what was going on and take flight. ...lost it somewhere after that though.
I`ll keep the rubbing hands together in mind for next time. :) wish me luck!
wow first one in under a week. Very good :D
ok i realized something, and am wondering if anyone maybe has a tip for me. almost always (even b4 learning about lucidity) i know that i am dreaming, but my dreams are more like a movie, in that i am aware of the fact that i am dreaming but i am just watching it all as it progresses, theyve always been vivid, but never so convincing that i thought it was real. so last night, i`m in a dream, and i try to look down or move my hands, but nothing happens the dream progresses at the same rate as b4, its like watching prerecorded dreams...thats why it was so exciting to be able to move around freely in the lucid i had. any tips?
:( no advice on that one?
lol I`m anxious about that answer too ;)
Awesome :D
well, last night I had another vivid dream, with several dream signs(one of which was a ringing trophy, which I answered and talked to my mom on lol), however, I was unable to bring myself to be able to do a reality check. please help! :(
Hiya,
My brief stint on these forums has taught me a lot. You need to truly believe you can do x, y and z, if you do not then you won't put your thoughts
into action. If you become aware you are dreaming you need to try (but not too hard) to realise it IS a dream and you CAN manipulate it.
Start off easy... Try changing the colour of something.
Last night, whilst randomly walkin and running around New York in my dream, I had a point where I became aware of the fact I was dreaming I started trying to manipulate my surroundings, which failed epicly. I tried something more subtle, in another dream that night I was following friends in to a back alley, they dissapeared and I seen a door which I believed they went through - I tried opening it and failed, but when I walked away the bloody thing opened!
It's all in the mind. I think you just need to believe.
thanks for the tips! :)
i also tried to remember to do more reality checks today to try to keep from forgetting to do those in dreamland :D
I`ll let you all know how it goes :)
TTGirl: Those third person dreams can be kind of hard to enter. I'm not entirely sure, but it may be that they come from watching a lot of TV and movies, where you really are watching from an outside point of view.
Whenever I have a dream in the third person, I imagine myself jumping into the TV set (kind of like Pleasantville!) and that usually helps.
As has been said, confidence plays a huge part in dream control, but practice also plays a part so don't be disheartened that some things are a little harder than others.
sorry for the delayed response, twice I have replied and both times my phone`s internet has not cooperated. :p anyhow, I`ll try to remember what I wrote now :D
I am definitely confident that I can do this :) I`m practicing to the best of my abilities, but as with anything, tips and advice are always very much appreciated!! :D
I haven`t seen Pleasantville, but I do think I understand what you mean :)
I don`t remember dreaming last night, so I didn`t have an oppurtunity to try to jump in. I`m still very anxious for an LD to happen again, so I fear maybe that may be having an effect on it. I`ll get it eventually though! For sure :D
again, thanks to all for tips and advice! :)
so excited now... had another LD FINALLY!!
just another short one, but I totally took the advice and instead of reality checking, I just decided to dive right into a character in my dream (mind you it was a 3d cartoon character) still, none-the-less, I was a different character than myself in a LD. and also it was after I woke up then went back to sleep, and an alarm woke me, then I hit snooze, then had a dream! so excited!!
wow another LD this morning after hubby woke up before I decided to. This was the longes yet, maybe 20, 25 minutes. about half of it was Lucid. wow I am just so excited now. This jumping into the dream technique is workin teriffically! (if thats a word lol) and the rubbing my hands kept me there :) this is so great!
I am so excited, I had another LD this morning after my hubby woke up and I went back to sleep. This time it was approx. 20 to 25 minutes, about half of it was lucid. This jumping into the dream technique is working perfectly! Thank you so much! and rubbing my hands together seems to work very well for keepin me there, its easier to remind myself I`m dreaming instead of spinning and forgetting. also, I was able to spin and change "scenes" and was able to "create" stuff out of "thin air". So amazing!!!
*twists face in envy.*
*indeed*
well I feel kinda stupid now b/c this morning I posted that, it didnt show up, reposted from memory, it didnt show up, and reposted a 3rd time, still didnt show up....now I came back 2 try again,...and 2 were there lol, but I will leave them both there 4 good measure ;) ..to err is human...to royally screw up takes technology...lol. anyhow, I know I know I havent really been doing this long, but the best advice I can give is this: try 2 just jump right into a character if you pretty much always know you are dreaming, and rub your hands together if you feel it fading, and just concentrate on this "I am cobtrolling this dream no matter what", also, I get the best ones so far after I hit the snooze button, so set your alarm a little earlier than you usually would!! good luck, and sweet dreams!!!
oops! **controlling**
my bad ;)
Well I'm feelin a lil bit stupid now. Somehow I totally misunderstood the concept of LD. I THOUGHT that you had to have control for it to be considered lucid....but as I have been reading though Naiya's ever so helpful LD thread, i have been happily corrected!!!So as I mentioned before in one of my posts, I have been aware of the fact that I am dreaming many many times....which really really excites me ALOT!!! :)
Anyhow, this morning I had a non lucid dream that had a premonition in it!! never had that happen before to my knowledge! (it came to pass only a few hours later) (craziest thing thats ever happened!!) anyway, thats all I had to say lol.
Happy dreams!!!!!!!!!! xoxoxo
Well, congratulations! Sounds like you are a natural LDer--excellent!--and are off to a good start with your dream control, too.
