No offense... but why is your mom being such a bitch about it...? Are you trying to force her to Lucid Dream or something? Haha I'm just wondering... Or did she simply get all pissy when you brought it up that you wanted to LD?
I suppose you didn't mean to quote me? Or maybe I just don't understand what you're sayin...
Lol,
I thought the same thing Ninja.
xD
Anyways, tell her LDing is much more then just learning to control your emotions or something. Tell her you're doing it for the fun of it!
Tell her all of the things you could do in a LD. I mean, really, the options are endless.

But can I just let you know, it is actually the opposite of finding your inner self. Interpreting normal dreams does that.
Lucid dreaming is about not wasting a third of your life on pointless dreams.
Tell her that the reason you want to lucid dream is because most of that wasted third can be actually used.
Besides, who gives a shit what she thinks. It is your decision to do what you want to do.
I never actually told my mom I lucid dream but I talked to her about it and she was like "that's cool how you can control your mind like that" and I'm like "yeah".
My gf knows I do it though but that's about it.
I guess mothers have this propensity to do these sorts of things. Mine gave me a hard time when I looked into religions other than Christianity on my own and would bring them up in the living room. It seems like baby boomers... whenever you talk to them in a more or less philosophical way, they take it all in basically this same way, as per based on their own religious worldview. Not specifically, but methodically.
