New here, first FA after 2 days of learning
Hello everyone. I just had my first false awakening last night. I just learned about DV about 4-5 days ago but really go into it about 2-3. I first started off trying to WILD and start SP with some meditation music called "awakening"
It seems to relax me a lot but I feel like I don't dream when I listen to this music. It is nothing but mild/heavy rain for 30+ Minutes. Any input? Volume is set to drown out the window AC noise right next to me but it's not very loud and it seems very soothing to me.
Anyways, two nights ago I started keeping a dream journal. I slept that night and all I could remember was some weird dream about me thinking/talking about lucid dreaming while FLOATING around my bed... guess that didn't make me lucid! So I wrote that down.
BUT! I'm an avid cannabis user. I have my medical recommendation and use it for insomnia. I recently read to not smoke 2-4 hours before you go to sleep so it doesn't affect your REM cycles. For once in a very long time I went to sleep w/o smoking my medicine.
That's when I had 5 dreams that I recalled! Now, I don't think that's a coincidence but 5 dreams instead of 1 maybe-dream seems good to me!
I think I will cut back on the medicine 4-6 hours before I go to sleep to hopefully stimulate my mind. I realized all of these methods HELP me get to sleep really really fast and I don't stay awake all night!
Oh yeah and the false awakening was me getting excited because my brother woke up me and asked if anything happened last night (lucid dream ect) and I was super excited. In my dream I grabbed my dream journal and started flipping through it only to wake up... lol!
Anyways just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has shared their experiences and of course to all of the tutorials everyone has made.
I feel I have progressed in the 3-4 days i've been here. Before coming to DV I NEVER remembered any dreams except 1 every 6 months! Just telling myself I will remember my dreams REALLY did work. I can believe it becuase it happened.
I will Lucid Dream. I know it takes time but eventually it will happen and I will not force it. I will keep pacing myself with all of this great knowledge.
Thank you again DV.
