Re: jolting myself out of the dream!
Welcome to DV, GK. It is, it seems, just a matter of trying too hard. It's more important to have confidence and knowing that something will happen. What kind of things have you tried doing and what seems to go wrong? Have you been trying to do anything in particular? If so, you can mention a few things and we can try to give you some pointers. Also, if it helps, make a list of things you want to do and just focus on one so that way when you get lucid next time you don't have to take time and think about it. If you're into flying, though, there are a number of posts around that contain numerous ways of going about it.
Maybe since you've been getting migranes, there's something different about the way you've been sleeping. I'm not any sort of science/phisiology expert, but I'm wondering if whatever causes the migranes might be causing you to become lucid in the first place. Feel free to ask if you've got any more questions.
