Sleep problems
Hey guys. I just made an account here tonight because I come with a problem.
I got interested in lucid dreaming yesterday, and just kinda for fun I decided to use a technique I read about. I got partial sleep paralysis but I would always do a little twitch and never seem fully in sleep paralysis. Now to my problem...
I did this last night and tonight (both failed attempts) and now I actually just want to sleep.
I so freakin' scared that my way of sleeping is permanently damaged. After feeling the paralysis I got up out of bed and decided just to go to sleep for the night.
The problem is, I'm still thinking about the whole paralysis thing... I just recently learned about sleep paralysis and now that's all I think about and I feel it
It is very distracting and I can't seem to not think about it and feel it.
I don't know how I'm going to be able to go to sleep now...
This is seriously troubling for me...
I've always been able to go to sleep rather easily up until yesterday...
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED
Thank you!

One single instance of sleep paralysis is not going to ruin your entire future sleep pattern. Calm down, read a book, have a cup of warm milk, and go back to sleep. Worrying is the only thing that will make this a problem for you, so distract yourself. Sleep paralysis didn't hurt you, can't hurt you, and won't hurt you if you ever experience it again.
After you've had a good night's sleep, consider stepping it down a notch. Keep a dream journal for a few weeks and allow a DILD to happen naturally. Once you've gotten a little more used to the idea of lucidity, you can - calmly - try the more advanced techniques.
Or you could jump straight into it. It's your choice, just remember to keep calm and let it happen.
