What is DV IRPG?
DreamViews Interactive Role Playing Game (DV IRPG for short) is a drawn RPG based game. I will be drawing out scenes, monsters, etc. that you, the poster, will come up with. Everything will be 100% drawn by hand.
I wanted the character to do X but instead you did Y.
I haven't yet thought of a way to choose which post to go off of yet. That can be decided later though, as right now it's just about choosing who we play as.
How will fighting be done?
I am currently writing a C++ program that will control these things. Right now I'm working on the leveling up. It's being handled as (player level) / 1.3 = x * (profession trait). Still lots to do though. Random drops, randomizing monster stats, etc. etc...
Will we gain companions?
Most likely yes. Of course, such things probably won't come until much later.
What is our quest?
I have a couple ideas for a quest, but such things won't be revealed until we get to them!
How should Actions be decided?
Someone will start off with an action, such as "Talk to that person", then the 2nd poster would decide what to say to that person, like "I hate you". Remember that I may not do every action posted, especially if it comes up to like 10 posts without me doing something (like if I'm asleep or afk).
To start things off, we need a character! Here's how this will work...
The first poster will choose a race from the list below.
The second poster will choose the gender of the character. (Male or Female)
The third poster will choose the character's profession from the list below.
And the fourth poster will choose a name for our character. (Try not to use bad words for a name, and you can't use your real or forum name so be creative)
Spoiler for List of Races:
1) Human
I shouldn't have to explain what a human is.
2) Elf
Very similar to humans, except that they have long pointy ears.
3) Catgirl (Female only, if chosen skip gender selection)
Female only race. Resembles a human but they have Cat ears and a Cat tail instead.
4) Dryad
Half-tree, half-human. Google it if you really want to know what they look like, just keep safe search on.
5) Wolfboy (Male only, if chosen skip gender selection)
Similar to that of a Catgirl, except they're guys and have wolf ears and a wolf tail.
6) Demon
Human like race with devil horns.
Spoiler for List of Professions:
1) Warrior
HP: 100
MP: 20
Strength: 25

Let the character creation begin! If someone messes up with the order of things, just skip them.
You wake up in your crappy little shack house. It's daytime.
You really have no plans for today, so how about going out and exploring?
Or maybe you would like to look through your house for a bit.

I say glance around the room for any points of interest. I wouldn't leave to explore before we know if there's a super awesome thing we can bring along just lying about the place!

Immediately search for paint bucket in chest/cupboard. This place is in desperate need of colour.
11-17-2010, 10:33 PM

Things won't be colored in. This is to save time so I can get these out faster and won't have to worry about deciding what colors to use. If something IS a specific color, then it'll be drawn in that color instead of black.
You look around the room. The only interesting things you have (if they can be called interesting) is a desk with no chair, a bed, and a storage chest.
You decide to open up the chest. http://filesmelt.com/dl/OpenShackChest.png
You found a crappy wooden shield and 20 gold!
Will you take the items?
11-17-2010, 10:34 PM
Maeni
Of course! Unless we're already wearing a shield of some sort :V
Then head outside and look around!

You take the Shield and 20 Gold. You walk out of your house and decide to head West.
Unfortunately you never learned to tell which way is what. So instead you decide to go to your left. http://filesmelt.com/dl/ToWest.png
You see another shack next to yours, a tree, a broken wooden wheelbarrel, and a large castle.
The castle has two people guarding the front gate, as well as people walking along the edge of the caste.
What shall you do now?
11-17-2010, 11:18 PM

Knock on the door of the other shack and await answer. If nobody answers, let yourself in.

You walk up to the door and knock on it. http://filesmelt.com/dl/KnockonDoor.png
You wait and wait, but there is no answer.
You notice that the curtains are closed, then realize that you don't even have curtains in your house.
You attempt to open the door, it's not locked, but something heavy is blocking it.
What will you do next?
11-17-2010, 11:52 PM

Go back to your own shack and pick up the pen on the desk. Use the pen to draw a new door on the other shack and then try opening that door.

Ok, go back to your shack and check the note on the desk then, maybe you drank amnesia elixir and it's a message from yourself to yourself.

Speaking of which I need to make some death penalties.
Also, I'm working on the RPG Generator program that help me with this.

You head back into your shack. http://filesmelt.com/dl/CrappyShackHouse1.png
You look at the note on the desk. http://filesmelt.com/dl/MonsterBookTornPage.png
It seems to be a torn page out of a book.
All you can read is the top of the book which says, "Beginner's Guide to..." The last part is cut off.
Below it reads, "Monster Book" You assume the book is about monsters.
You might be able to take it back to a Book Store inside the Castle to get a new one.

You take the Torn Page and Crappy Wooden Staff and put them in your inventory. http://filesmelt.com/dl/CrappyShackHouse2.png
You head back outside. http://filesmelt.com/dl/FrontofHouse.png
You start to wish that your window was in the front of your house instead next to it, because all you see when you look out of it is the shack next to you.
It'd be fine if there was a window right there too, and a hot girl or something, but there isn't.
You stop yourself from being sidetracked, and notice the sign in front of your house. You can't read it too well, so you walk closer to it.
This is what it says...
OK! Time for you guys to come up with a couple of names.
First poster gets to decide what the name of the Castle is.
Second poster decides what the name of the forest is to the right.

Forest Vanhorne von Dome (named after the poor assassinated monarch of many moons ago who used to take many a walk through the woods with his secret lover lady Leblanc the third, duchess of the east).
Maybe a little more information than necessary.
Edit: I've been beaten. Oh well!
Instead I'll make the character go to the castle where the two goon guards are standing.

One of them is a man that looks pretty tough, the other is a Catgirl. They're both in uniform guarding the front gate.
From here, you can see the Book Store. As well as a fountain, and two small houses.

You stop thinking about it and head inside. http://filesmelt.com/dl/BookStore.png
You see lots of book shelves and a Dryad standing behind a counter reaching for a book. You assume that's the person to talk to about your torn page.

Dryads - made of wood right.
Books - made of paper right.
Cast fire, burn Dryad/books to the ground.
Leave. Start shouting for help, there's a fire in the old Books 'r' Us store. Find bucket or some shit, go the water fountain, collect water and put out fire. If the Dryad is dead, nevermind, you're still quite the hero for putting out a fire that could easily have put many other wooden commercial ventures at risk. If the Dryad is alive, cast cure on her and enjoy being her biggest damn hero ever. Her back was turned when you cast fire so what the hell does she know better. Then make some kind of joke based on you having wood and her being wood. I'm not saying you have to fuck her (though with that line, what's stopping you?) it'd just be a shame to waste something like that.
Then ask her about the missing page or some shit.

If Slayer does not do this I will cut off my own ring finger.
Don't pick anything too sexual. Also, no more long stuff like what Spart posted. Keep it short and simple so I can make these faster.

Burning the book store and saving her wasn't exactly beneficial, wouldn't you agree? You just got a partner that I doubt will do anything at all and you just extended the quest to find the book. Don't forget this also can't be good for the town.

Do what I always do regardless of gender when aquiring a new partner in an rpg. Open up the inventory screen. Sell all of her stuff except maybe a weapon. Do that. Not only will we have money, we will have a nude Dryad. She should not be too uncomfortable with this. Most depictions of Dryads in their natural environment, (the forest,) show them naked.
