facebook taking over?
hey while on facebook today i came to this realization. wtf is going on here like literally facebook is becoming a place where you hangout and do things with your friends and with the way things are advancing its not gona be long before its a honest to god virtual life where you can walk around and talk to people and what not. people are losing more track of what the earth actually is its not facebook lol

That has been the state of the internet for well over 13 years now.

I think FaceBook is just another phase. It's the "In" thing to do. In a year, or maybe in just a few months, something else will come along and take over

Yah, MySpace had it's run for about 4yrs, then people started to go over to FB. I'm sure it'll be around longer though
And yes, there are people who live through FB. I have gone to that because my 3 best friends live in WA, KS, and MI at the moment, BUT FB allows me to keep in touch with them. My only friend I hang out with on a consistant basis is my GF. Any of my other friends on FB I MIGHT see once a year if that, or are those people who say, "We should hang out!" and then you offer it and they don't get back or have an excuse, lol
I hate that I'm on the internet as much as I am, but not having much else to do... oh well. If I had friends that wanted to hang out, I'd do that in a heartbeat rather than sit at home
I'm sure there are others in my situation, or actually LIKE to talk to people face to face, but society now is so techie that actually hanging out is becoming a thing of the past... kind of

I don't have facebook. I have noticed it's been getting increasingly popular. My college even has it now, with facebook updates. And other sites, companies. It seems in some ways it's taking the place of email. Instead of alerting you about something through email, they alert you through facebook. I've only seen that a bit, not a lot, but it makes me fear that eventually having a facebook account will be as required as having an email address. I doubt it though, since it's too 'social' of a website and it's understood you don't want your work or school or something seeing personal images and w/e. Sorry for the writing/wandering, I'm really tired.

And just think, Facebook might be buying Twitter.
