Wayfaerer is crimping my style!!
That awkward moment when your friend says he will let you know "By this weekend" whether or not he can go to a concert.
It's Sunday Night. Tickets sold out. This weekend.
You keep saying "by this weekend" but I do not think it means what you think it means...
I payed ~$140 for just electric for my previous month. Is it cold near you? If so, what do you set heat at? Electric heat is expensive. My last bill was ~$90, but I shut off the heat for the last week or so. It's been warm here, and I don't need it.
Basically, anything involving heat is going to consume a lot of electric. Instead of using my full oven, I usually just use my small toaster oven. When I do dishes, I shut it off once it reaches the "dry" cycle and just open it up to dry on it's on (the dry cycle uses heated air).
Also, depending who you get your electric from, you might be able to get some special rates. I have PPL, and I can (I haven't done it yet) choose my supplier. Most of them offer "free days." So for example, I could pick Saturday as my free day, and I won't be charged for any electric used that day. This is good for doing laundry and such.
Link and I are in the same climate zone. Not sure why Link would need electric heat.
It was briefly cold the night after the storms rolled through, and right at the beginning of Spring Break, but otherwise it has been fairly mild.
California was nice.
Hmm, California... I suppose you think 60°F is cold then? :cheeky:
60's??? Pfffttttt, I wag my tongue at you.
It was in the low 40's at night in California, and we didn't have the heat on. It was comfortable, despite sleeping downstairs where it was noticeably cooler.
Honestly, the Bay Area is rather nice and pleasant. It never gets really cold there, maybe down in the low 30's at times, and I haven't found it to get colder than that around Oakland, at least not below 700 FT ASL.
I prefer a cold winter. I like my nights to be below freezing.
It was 27 to 36 degrees throughout Texas on March 9th when I was heading to California, until I got near El Paso, and then it climbed in to the 40's. At the same time it was around 70 in Coachella when I drove through on March 10th, and that was warm.
The snow storms I drove through on the way back were awesome!!!
Link just doesn't have any padding to keep him warm. For me, well, boobs help. Like warm pillows.
:D
Heh, we'll hit single digits at least a few times around here on a normal winter. This year was ridiculously mild, and I don't think think it ever dropped that low (at least not during the day). But up in the mountains when I go skiing, negative temperatures are to be expected. :)
Yea, 40F at night isn't too bad--shouldn't need heat then. Personally, I like sleeping in a colder room and having a big pile of blankets on top of me.
See, that's what I did in California. It felt great! Lots of blankets that can be thrown off when too warm.
It never gets that low here. Coldest temp on record is -2F and that was in 1949. It was low teens not too long back, maybe around +10 F.
Not that we need to compare low temps, or high temps for that matter. It was 113F last summer, care to come visit? ;)
Only downside to the pile of blankets is that getting out of bed in the morning is like 100x more difficult. :D
And I'd much rather have the cold, thank you very much. :) I hate the heat. If the temperature never went about 70F, I'd be happy.
It's been in the 80's all week; usually it doesn't get past 70-ish in March here.
And then it's supposed to go into the 20's again. *Sigh*. Ohio weather kind of sucks, goes below 0 every winter, and in the 90's and occasionally above 100 every summer.
Spring and Fall are nice, though, if you're OK with lots of precipitation.
Yeah, it's a bad year no matter where you are in the world. Strange weather.
Though I'll be glad if we just don't have a repeat of last summer. We had 90 (count them, ninety) days at or above 100F. Totally sucked. Warmest summer on record. Ever.
We had 164 days at 90 degrees or above in 2011. That's five-and-a-half months.
Even my son wants us to move out to California.
Gaah!
I am feeling so tired but I WANT to stay up posting on DV and IRC!

It's after midnight and I am still up doing laundry. I have to be up at 6:30A.M.
I need to go shopping tomorrow because food stocks are running out.
I really miss having my bank card. Points are nice but I hate having a balance on my Chase card.
<<<needs more hours
My daughter who's in Foster Care, has Friday's off from school for the rest of the year because the area had allocated (?) so many snow days and they only needed 2 days the whole winter. Very strange weather indeed.
My own temperature preferences vary greatly. If I'm not doing anything, I like the temp at around 86 (which is what I keep my AC on for the most part). At night, though, it still gets cold, so I turn off the AC, wait for it to get colder, then flip on my space heater.
But when I go to sleep, I like the temp at around 60. I sweat wayyy too much in my sleep- always have and it's a pain.
I'm ranting right now because
1) I'm a pig. I went to Sheetz and bought 3 things of "Sushi". I ate 2 of them (8 pieces!) and I am absolutely stuffed. I would eat sushi or just regular old fish every single day if I could. I bought a steamer last night and some fish and rice, so tonight I'll eat very well :)
2) My female Cockatiel CeeCee is going to die soon. She had what looked like a seizure yesterday. She was really unbalanced for awhile and kept falling off her perch. Today, she had another minor one. She's keeping her balance okay, though, for the most part. Her buldging belly is probably doing her in though. I'm surprised it hasn't ruptured long before now. (There are no bird vets anywhere near me and I couldn't afford them if there was :( )
3) Snuffanuff is going to drive me crazy with his barking for awhile. I finally tied him up in front of the house. That wont last long though. He'll break the color that was bought for him by a neighbor. I'll buy him a new one tomorrow, then move him behind the house again so my hubby doesn't bitch about the noise.
I saw Snuffanuff at a distant neighbors house yesterday playing with some kids. Some time yesterday evening, he was on the porch barking to be let inside. He was wearing a color and dragging a very long leash that was attached to a very long metal spike-ish thing. I walked it all back to the neighbor and asked if they wanted a dog lol and to give them their stuff back either way. They were not in the market for a pet and laughed when I told them of my plight in keeping him inside or chained up. They said the spike they connected him to was attached to some bigger thing and was in the ground. That dog is stubbornly determined.
They said he wasn't being a bother, they just worried about him getting hurt, which is why they tied him up. I told them if they ignore him, he comes home. I apologized for his intrusiveness and they said their daughter loved playing with him. They even called him Buddy and there was a sign on their garage "Home of Buddy" that the kids had colored lol.
It was getting dark so I could hardly see her. Before I left I introduced myself and she said "I know where you live I just didn't know you had a dog... your daughters used to come over all the time... I lived down the road... I'm Mary Joe." I haven't seen her for at least 3 years.
I can't remember her daughters name for the life of me. Victoria maybe? I'll have to ask my daughters tonight.
When I was coming from getting Sushi, I saw Snuffanuff at Exxon harassing an older woman. She just shooed him and he didn't jump, but I need to find a way to keep that boy contained. I hope everything holds him until I can get to the store tomorrow.
It was my pleasure, Link.... you're very welcome :D
I'm now ranting because I just spray painted some of my wall.
1) It splattered MUCH more than usual. It went on too thick at the corner but it looks kind of neat because the paint ran and it looks like a dark storm cloud to me.
2) My walls aren't of the same texture (?) either. The first walls I painted were like painting over a smooth, flat surface. The one I tackled today, though, appears to have shallow lines in it which can be seen when the light hits it the right way :uhm:
3) I didn't have enough paint to finish. I'll get some more tomorrow.
4) My hands are paint splattered and my nose is sticking closed. My arm hair was sticking up and was VERY dark colored lol (I ran a baby wipe over my arms and it looks better now ).
I'm going to paint some of the floor once the room airs out some so I can't get a shower just yet.
BUT, my keyboard and mouse aren't sticky because I finally thought to cover them :)
In the battle of Ophelia vs. The Ants, Ophelia won.
Collateral Damage: a few Mosquito Hawks and one Doodle Bug (sorry guys).
LD is a lie!....ok not really but i seem to make no progress what so ever, only random stuff! Drags me down!
Did you only try to start LDing when you signed up here, like a month ago? Because if so then you've barely put any effort into it at all. :P It can take a long time to really get anywhere, which seems annoyingly long if you focus on it but it's not too bad if you're just patient. For my first couple of years trying I just had one very rarely, like less than once a month, every now and then, and then like last month I had like twenty-something.
Of course not! I didnt really practise it back then but i had dreams in which i came lucid because i noticed something odd.Without much advanced knowledge i just tried to shape it the way i wanted to. My earliest DD entry dates back to april of 2011 so that when i started to practise it consciously
Google has that new 'Play' button, so I click it because I want to play a game on my computer, and nothing is playable!
