Haha so do I, O.
I think I must just constantly swear all day. If anything seems strange I'm like "what the absolute fuck", if someone does something stupid I'm like "you fuckin gypsy", and if I'm happy about something I'm like "fuckin yaas, ya beast", etc etc etc. And I mean that for both with people irl, and for shouting at the monitor :P
My case is not that easy to analyze, because the use of different languages (Spanish IRL, English here), but I talk the way I think, and I type the way I think, so yes more or less...
sure do
although there's a certain thing I do which I can't easily replicate in a textual format unless
maybe going down lines like
this
would replicate it but I tend to talk faster than I think when I've had a lot of sugar so I streeeeetch out words and make them

and slow while I'm trying to figure out exactly what's coming next in the sentence.
I can of course use better grammar in my internet talking too but when I'm tired and it's rapidfire usually the capital letters and the end of sentence punctuation go out the window.
Lol. Yeah. It just comes more naturally. I mean, maybe when I'm on Facebook or something, and just bullshitting with my friends, I cuss a lot through text, but most of my online socialization (outside of Facebook) is here on DV, so I tend to tailor my text a little bit more. But it's kind of like what slash said; when I'm just rambling vocally, "shit" and "fuck" tend to fly out of my mouth as passively as any other word. However, I'm really good about watching what I say around kids and certain other people, whom I respect enough to try to project a bit more class in front of.
Yea I watch what I'm saying around certain people, mainly kids. But sometimes it just flys out by accident lol.
Example, the other day I was in a room with a bunch of kids and some of my family, and I was showing my little cousin a game on the ipod, and I died or something, and I was like "BASTARD".
It was a real "had to be there" moment. Funny as hell, everyone turns and looks at me.
But yea... other than that I try to act the way the people with me expect me to. I talk differently depending who I'm with actually. I'll use a lot more scottish slang when I'm with teenagers. I'll use a different tone when I'm in the pub. Shit like that.
But on the internet, I think I'm the same with everyone... I haven't actually thought about that before.
I certainly use many many more expletives when speaking then when typing. I often use the backspace key to modify things before hitting the 'post' button. Saying 'backspace' while speaking just doesn't carry the same effect. :)
Sometimes, but I also notice that depending on the friends I'm with I adopt certain ways of speaking based on what I know about the person I'm talking with. I feel like this sort of thing happens less and less in our culture because our conversation is so based on texting and chat, and also because of tv. It's 2 people talking at each other rather than with each other. People have less of a mind connection now, it's freaky. Or maybe things have always been fucked up, who knows.
When I type I'm more rational and percise, though sometimes I notice this coming through in my speech, I suddenly get very very articulate.
There's more similarity than normal, I think. There's also a difference between the way I talk on skype vs. on a forum. The way I talk on skype/msn, I'd say is pretty similar to real life. Too similar.
Nope, I talk nothing like I type. Completely different.
