What I hate is people who use phrases/memes like that, raise their eyebrows or roll their eyes, instead of actually explaining why they think you're wrong or stupid. Open communication is better than being a sarcastic holier-than-thou jerk (especially if you want to actually help people out).
usually people can tell what im saying just because of how well they know me X)
sarcasm is a second language to me.
Well the way I've been hearing it used isn't when being sarcastic to someone directly, only when talking about something or to an inanimate object or telling a story. I hear it a lot at work when a dog makes a nasty mess in its cage or pulls out its catheter and there's blood everywhere. I'll be on the other side of the ICU and I hear the tech standing in front of the cage going, "Really!?" They're really just talking to themselves. I'm like, just shut the fuck up and clean the mess. Christ. Why do you have to announce to the whole world that you're annoyed? Do people no longer have inner monologue? I blame facebook and twitter for this nonsense.
I realize I'm complaining about people complaining. Oh well.
aaahhhhhh I hate this too! My friend and her parents would say this non stop and it really got on my nerves for some reason. They got a new puppy and every time it did something out of line they'd go really? *dogs name* really?? I felt like going YES REALLY, DUH, ITS A PUPPY lol. My parents better not start saying it :?
^Yep. That's it exactly. :shakehead2:
To be honest I have no idea what this thread is about. Either this is a meme that hasn't made it to the UK yet, or it's a thing that has been in the UK for ages and has only just made it across the pond for some reason.
I love the part when the kid throws the baseball at his dad's head. Lol.
So... you guys have only just started using 'really?' as an expression of irritated bemusement? Really?
really.
To be honest, I don't really mind it. People have been doing that for years, a lot of people have even upgraded to "seriously...?" I think you're just slow on the uptake nina, you've really got to get with the times. =P
Also, I don't mind when people sprinkle their sentences with "like." I don't know, they just seem friendlier (to me) when they do.
i know right, like i like always say like like in my sentences
It gets annoying if someone does it too much. I apparently do it sometimes without noticing. Usually only when I'm trying to think while talking.... I think.
I use "y u no" from time to time in real life now. Gotta stop reading memes :P
i never ever hear memes except for thats what she said IRL
on the computer tho
dont get me started
