Ties are overrated. Wear an ascot.
Well, first you sit the tie around your neck, then hold one end out straight. You then flip the other end of the tie around the end you're holding, and repeat it. Next you pull the end that you flipped up through the gap at the top of the tie and...

Not knowing how to tie a tie.
Not having a large collection of ties in every shade, material and pattern.
Oh you.
Learning to tie a tie is something you learn once, and you will always remember it, though it may take you a few tries.
One of the benefits of school uniforms is you know how to tie ties from an early age. :boogie:
Oh I have plenty of ties. A green one, a green one with stripes, a black one, a purple one with stripes, a grey one, a red one, a black one with red stripes, a dark blue one, a white one with light blue stripes, a gold one with brown stripes, a brown one with slightly darker brown stripes, a black one with a dark purple diagonal stripes going both directions (to form a criss-crossed pattern), a similar one but in red, and a cream colored one. I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to not have such a wide assortment of ties to choose from. Can you beleive there are people out there in the world who make due with only two ties? Gosh, the hardships they must endure.

I learned how to tie a half-windsor and a pratt knot (they look almost identical but the pratt knot is easier to remember) and got excited so I tied all the ties in the house. :content:
I'll stick with ties as long as I don't have to go through all that mess woman do when they choose clothes.
If I have to be formally dressed, only difference I make is what tie to wear. Bow ties I don't like at all.
But seriously. Ties are the most unneccessary clothes ever. Who wants to wear a piece of clothing that has the greatest chance of all clothes get you killed. It basically invites angry people to strangle you. I seriously want them abolished from existence. They are the sole reason I am suspicious of Croatians.

Who the fuck invented ties? It's a noose around your neck for goodness sake.
Croatians. They were used to distinguish different army groups from another, I presume.
Stupid people, who would want to have shiny and colourful uniform. I'd want one where I can sneak around and camouflage in the enviroment. Although, warfare from that age was more of kick-to-the-groin contest than anything else.
No, ties are an irish invention....
Since cravat is the precessor of the tie, it became little less complex. We use the word kravatti around here for modern tie, as well.Quote:
The necktie traces back to the time of Thirty Years' War (1618–1648) when Croatian mercenaries from the Military Frontier in French service, wearing their traditional small, knotted neckerchiefs, aroused the interest of the Parisians. Due to the slight difference between the Croatian word for Croats, Hrvati, and the French word, Croates, the garment gained the name "cravat".[1] The new article of clothing started a fashion craze in Europe where both men and women wore pieces of fabric around their necks. In the late 17th century, the men wore lace cravats that took a large amount of time and effort to arrange. These cravats were often tied in place by cravat strings, arranged neatly and tied in a bow.
