I found a Cell Phone | Dont know how to use one! Help!

Hi everyone!

I found a cell phone on the ground the other day.

The screen was black. It was off. But at the time I found it, I didn't know it was off, I thought it was out of batteries.

I've never had a cell phone before, and I've rarely delt with cell phones. Most of my friends have them, but I don't.
My parents don't use theirs much so I never really know about them.

Anyways, I didn't even know that you could turn on a cell phone and turn it off.

One day, I was flipping it open and flipping it close (cause it felt cool lol), and I pressed random buttons. And then it turned on! It stunned me.

I openned it to search the address book, only to find nothing.

I checked everything I could, and I found nothing at all. Nothing that would help me return the phone.

So now, I decided to keep the phone, since there was no way I could return it.

It has wallpaper
ringtones
IM
Alarm Clock
Calculator
Java Applet Games
it can go to websites

Okay, I really need help and I'm dead serious.

How the hell do you turn this thing off? And to turn it on I press the green button right?

I've tried googling this and I couldn't find much.

Also I have some more questions.

-I tried calling by typing the phone number and then just waitting and nothing happens. Is it broken?

-Why is there NO ADDRESSES?!?

-How long could the cell phone last if I left it on?

-Is it okay to turn it off by just removing the batteries?


I need help understanding everything! How come some things won't work? I cant sign on the im thing, and I cant surf the web.

How do I download games, ringtones, and wallpapers to the phone? How does it work?

How do I find out the number of my own phone? (that I found)?!?!

Well, someone's gonna be pissed if you call people/visit websites/text people on that phone.

My guess is you can find out who it's registered to or who registered the phone number. I think you can go to address book/my phone #.

I suppose if you use it enough, when the rightful owner gets billed for those minutes, he or she will realize that somebody has his or her old phone, and will call the number and ask for the phone back. All you need to do is wait for what might be a very remarkable phone call. Remember to say that you made a few calls deliberately only as a means of deliberately notifying the True Owner and that it was always your intention to return it. This will keep the owner from becoming to outraged and hostile.

To turn it off, there might be a button with a symbol that looks like a circle with a vertical line inside it, or running through it. Hold it for 3 seconds and it will turn off (most generic cell phones work like this)

If you want to return it, and its a cingular phone, dial 611 and then press the green button to send the call. It will probably be some menu or a robot. If its a robot, simply say something like "I would like to speak with a human" and they'll get you a representative. I hate robots. say that you found the phone and they will notify the owner through their billing information and yeah. However, if they have locked the phone and you can't make calls then that means they already got a new one, and have given up all hope of finding it. Most legit mobile phone stores can unlock the phone (this just unlocks the phone, not the service), and if you get a prepaid SIM card then well you just got yourself a free cell phone yall!

Look at what brand and what kind it is and google the fuck out of it.

But even then, who needs manuals? Just press random buttons to see what happens. How hard can it be.

Some phones reset if it hasn't been used in a while (mine does it each month :mad:), so that could be the reason why if doesn't have any numbers in the adress book. Try the nearest mobile phone store, and they will probably be able to tell you the model of the phone, or may even be able to give you a new SIM card so you can get a new mobile number. As for downloading games n' stuff, the phone probably has an icon to connect to the interent via WAP (Wireless Application Protocol).

The phone could probably last 100 hours or more if it is on but is not in use (the screen is off etc) when fully charged. I think it would be fine turning it off by the batteries, but there could be a risk of wipeing the memory.
When you typed in the phone number did you press another button to make the call? (it is usually a button with a green phone icon). Or perhaps it is out of calling credit.

try calling your house with it if you cant call then the phone is probably unactive

if you have caller id at home and the found phone works then just look at what number the caller id gives you and that will be the cell phones number
