WTF DV got hacked? Is that why for one day half the people had the same avatars and were transsexual? I didn't give that much thought for some reason.

Haha, I remember this...haha...hah...

The banning of Carousoul.
I don't really think this thread is a downer, unless thinking about bad things makes you depressed beyond the point of consoling. [Which it shouldn't really, because if you were to make a list, the pros would definately outweigh the cons.]
And since overpopulations already been noted, I would add:
- Bloodlust.
- The desire for money or power/influence.
- The dillution of the word "love" (i.e. "I love my iPod, my car, etc.", by that line of thinking, you only love something until it breaks or something goes wrong).
- Mushrooms and other things that grow naturally being made illegal.
- Synthetic highs in general.
- Convenience to an extreme that makes it near impossible for humans to evolve.
- The giant island made of garbage in the middle of the ocean.
- The desire to make others believe exactly as you do.
- The fact that society has moved away from ways of recording information that can be understood 1,000's of years into the future, without requiring certain technological devices.
- The overwhelming tendacy not to learn from the past.
- The fact that someone hasn't yet invented a machine that automatically records all memories to a searchable digital database, complete with dialogue, movie-views, and still images...but they've invented a toilet that can talk to you.
- Embalming.
I hope that list wasn't too depressing. But if it was, sometimes things that upset you can catalyze ideas better than things you enjoy.
:P

How humans evolved with that little 'extra' bit of skin in the middle of the upper lip that is IRRESISTABLE TO PICK but just always end up pulling too much off and hurting themselves.

Sometimes a problem doesn't exist if you don't believe it's there.
PETA, and all of its supporters.
Also, Apple.
Oh, come on, I can't believe nobody has mentioned the speed of light. I mean, you go one freaking mile per second over the speed limit, and they give you negative mass, no exceptions. That has got to be the stupidest thing ever. I mean, they could at least give you a 3-5mps leeway.
And don't get me started on gravity. It hurts when you forget to keep something solid between yourself and the space below you.
- selfishness
- doing things allegedly altruistically, when you're only doing it to feel good/show off to others
- discussions that will get nobody nowhere
- people who think they know everything but know not even themselves
- prejudice
- fear of the unknown
- hard-headedness
- 90% of the world population being straight... it should be half-half
- religion
- george w bush
- conservative parties
- competition (not rivalry)
Gravity's useful, but what justification is there for the mass/energy speed conversion? Not trying to argue, I'd just like to hear what you think about it.
What other reason could people have for being "altruistic"? Nobody does anything unless it has a net benefit for them (unless they're being stupid). It's either to make themselves look good, to make the world a less miserable place for them to live, or to get that happy, fuzzy feeling from doing something nice. I think it's a perfectly good reason for people being nice.
And I was somewhat annoyed by your assertion that half of all people should be straight and half of all people should be something else (I assume gay, which is completely ignoring bisexual people). But that would actually solve a lot of the overpopulation problems and lack of adoptions.
I think that most of what is really wrong with the world boils down to this:
-people being jerks
-people being stupid (may include most or all of example 1, your opinion may vary)
-the fact that we not only have pain, but need it to survive
There may have been something else, instead of one ofthe first two, but if it was a different one I don't recall it right now.
Edit: A more specific example is the burger king burget shots commercial. Which is to be filed under "people being stupid."
I know many retards (forgive the word) who will sacrifice themselves for you if you ask them, without getting anything out of it. People are just too damn greedy. I just really dislike it when they mask it as doing something miraculously right, when they're only being selfish. Don't do something egoistically and say you're being altruistic, that's what I say.
And also, having things half-half means there are no minorities, and in such case less ignorance and prejudice/etc. We are already 7 billion, as you said, it's not like we need to reproduce lol

A small orphanned child dropping their ice cream on a hot summer's day whilst a volcano erupts in the background and they are slowly and painfully killed and preserved by the combination of hot ash and magma.
One year later, aid workers try and excavate the site and discover the child's fossilised remains. In its dying moments it had clearly scrawled with its finger in the ash that was piling up all around, "I'm coming Momma..."
