Way of thought, view of all things changing

Well, I used to be a very simple guy. I slept when I was tired, I ate when I was hungry and did what I was told (mostly). Over the last few years My way of thought and view of the world around me has changed significantly. I no longer do things just to do them. I always find meaning behind what is done and what needs to be done. I see how complex the world is. I can spend an entire day sitting on the ground staring at my hand examining my fingers as they move and flex. I can see everything in a new light. I have random fits of pure euphoria and joy. Like it doesn't get any better. I am now taking time to experience the nicer things. As well I have found myself giving into certain things like lust and want, even though I know better. The greatest thing is I love it all. I want to just leave where I am for new better places. I want to run away and lose control. No need to "go with the flow" I want to just run to the wilderness and make my own flow. The greatest thing is that I will have no problem with loneliness. Because nobody knows me better than I do. When I'm among "friends" I have to change myself to suit their needs, and they the same for me. But when I'm with myself there is no work to be done. Just me and myself. It's like a new sun has risen in my head. And I want this for everyone but it's so hard to explain. I just find myself rambling on about the greatness of my new paradigm. Without being able to share it with anyone else. I do not intend to keep it to myself. Can any of you try to help me help you? Wow... that was a long post...sorry bout that but I just couldn't hold it in anyore. I hope someone here has had the same happen to them so that I can get help in sharing my wonderful new outlook!

Hi mind, I can identify with almost everything you are saying. I feel as if this has happened to me this year as well. Especially with the fits of euphoria and the enjoyment of being on your own. It's as if you've reached a new spiritual plateau isn't it? If i'm not mistaken, this is similar to what Maslow described as the 'peak experience' (like Sylar mentions for any Heroes fans reading this).

I also feel the urge like I need to tell my friends about how great this is, and often it seems like everything I say falls on deaf ears. I also feel like I am rambling, or that I'm trying much too hard to convince them.

I wonder if the desire to spread it to others is really just a way to try and justify it to myself. That this apparent beauty in everything is real and not just a way I have deluded myself into feeling enlightened. So for now I try to resist trying to describe it to others when they don't seem to want to hear it, and rather I channel the energy into trying to gain more knowledge about myself and the world. I think I have much, much more to understand.

It's really hard to describe it isn't it? Like there ought to be some word in the English language to capture it, but there just isn't.

Well it was understandable that I couldn't find someone with a similar experience in my shirt circle of friends and family but when it came to the internet I thought there would be TONS! Like we could make our own forum or something. Well I'm gad to see I found one...or that one found me, either way its good that I atleast found one. Well even if you can't relate to everything I said does anyone have any experiences of this ecstatic euphoric feeling? Or find themselved more interested in the surroundings? Anything?!

Well, if this post is soo boring to you why even take the time to make a post saying so? I'm sure you don't go to every post you are bored by and say it's boring. This thread is obviously made for those who care about what it is about, or for those with similar experiences. Not for people to waste space by saying how boring it is. I would much rather have an empty thread than a thread with a bunch of posts saying how crappy the thread is. And I actually hope that you don't get to read this. Cause if you do it just means you took the time to re-enter this thread that is soooooo boring. So how bout if you have something worth saying say it. If you don't than don't waste time, you aren't getting anywhere.

That sounds wonderful. After getting into lucid dreaming I feel that reality isn't so real anymore. I examine some things more closely and get some weird feeling off of it. Perhaps I'm not talking about the same thing though.

mindwanderer, i know exactly how you feel, i can relate to you on a similar level. I used to do those sort of things like just taking in life by staring at the beauty of the world around me. I wish i had time for that now, but i do not, when it gets to the Summer i think i am in need of some serious meditation, i'm missing out. I know exactly what you mean though and i think that if i wasn't so wrapped up in important things i would probably just go and live my own life and make my own happiness.

Good thread, its good to get it out, made me think about this though and i may need to start appreciating the little things rather than moaning about what i don't have.

Well Said!!! Anyways it's good to hear that there are some people who can relate.

Ohhh, yeah... I feel like I could have written this thread myself!

I have been like this ever since I started hanging out in the wilderness, at the beach, and on mountain peaks a lot. It's like eleviating yourself from everyday worries and routines. When you take the time to look at a plant and start imagining how wonderful for an ant that plant alone must be, you start thinking on a major scale and it's fucking awesome.
