i...will take a look when i feel better then...thank you for the heads up pal :cooler:
Thats some fucked up shit. You wont catch me in any KFC.
are you vegetarian/vegan awaken? i know that site is connected with alot of animal rights activism so i was curious if you are or not...
*shrugs*
Lately, i've been kind of REALLY annoyed by all the animal rights activits and militant vegan people... fuck chickens. Seriously. Stupid chickens. If you want to do charity/care for stuff, CARE FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE WORLD THAT HAVE NO FOOD/SHELTER, dont go around and cry because a bunch of FUCKING CHICKENS get slaughtered because people like to eat them.
I am not veggie by any standard and I have no connection with animal rights activists. I had steak the past 2 nights. But seeing animals treated like this is pretty disturbing to say the least...Quote:

Its not the fact that were eating them..its the fact that these chickens are being treated like crap when thier is no need. They are being thrown around like someones garbage. Eat chickens sure, but why treat them like that? Does it somehow help people to sam chickens into walls and scold them alive? Not at all. Its not helping anyone.
You cant pick other peoples fights for them. People stand up for something they feel strongly in, so we cant change that. Personally I think the best way to amke the world a better place is to make your life better. If everyone started with themselves the world would be fine. But if I send letters to Dale Earnheart or KFC, itll be a waste of my time and it wont change shit. It just attacks the symptoms.
Sympathy: The act or power of sharing the feelings of another.
A feeling or an expression of pity or sorrow for the distress of another; compassion or commiseration.
Believe it or not, chickens are living creatures to. The treatment of another being is not determined by it's IQ. If you think that this is anywhere near proper treatment of chickens, you need a kick in the head and some retuning.
If I saw people taken against their will, having their fingers cut off (equating it with debeaking), put into pens with their own shit/piss where they choke on the fumes and are unable to move because it's so cramped, are fed drugs to make them so big that they collapse under their own weight, are dragged off and literally *thrown* into trucks by their necks, hung upside down while their throats are cut (while they're still conscious), ground up, breaded, deep-fried, and then sold to people with the motto "Finger lickin' good!" and a nice-looking old man with a smile on his face to accompany, I'd be doing the same thing I am right now...I'd say people without food/shelter are living like kings compared to this...Quote:

Wow...I feel really bad for you CT. Its too bad those dumb chickens lives had to interfere with yours and cause such an annoyance. I mean after all...they're just getting tortured....they don't have to feel the great annoyance of activists buzzing in the background of thier lives.Quote:

VERY well-said...If no one had any sense of sympathy, we'd be lifeless and disconnected.Quote:

So, chickens are more important then people?
I'm just setting priorities, to what causes deserve my sympathy more then others. I think my fellow human beeings are more important then animals. Sorry if the post sounded a bit rude - I had some kind of discussion with a militant vegan who really pissed me off, I guess ever since i've been a bit touchy on that subject... Ofcourse the chickens are beeing treated wrong - I just care a hell of a lot more about people then I do about chickens.
They are??? WHo said that? I dont recall anyone saying that chickens are more important than people.Quote:

So CT, when the chickens aren't being tortured, that's the equivalent of living better than a human?
Damn...this topic is making me hungry for some fried chicken.
But in all seriousness, I switched to free-range years ago because of this very treatment. I just hope that when they say "free-range", it means what I HOPE it means.
No. Who said that?Quote:

We implied it because we don't want them tortured.
Ophelia, free-range means they toss the chickens in the air and shoot them with a pellet gun. The first person to hit 5 chickens wins.
There's too many crap in the world concerning people, and our race's future that chicken are way down on my list and I would prefer most charity stuff to stop 'wasting' time with chickens... sorry if I word it a bit wrong, like I said i got annoyed before and I guess I vented that in that post and I dont feel like arguing about semantics now.
Its thier time to waste on chickens or whatever else. Whoa are you to decide what's of most importance to other people?
I AM vegan, though I wouldn't call myself an activist beyond how I choose to live my own life. Even if I lived in a society that treated livestock humanely, I probably wouldn't be eating dead flesh if it wasn't necessary to my survival.
Do I think animals are more important than people? No, I'm not eating people, either. I do think that treating living creatures as "product" or worse, sport, reflects and has an impact on the way we view other people. Once we start ignoring suffering, it gets easier and easier to go from, "Well, they're not people" to "Well, they're not MY people" to "Well, it's not me." And then, guess what? It's you. Someone bigger and stronger comes along and they want your labor or your land, or they just want to hurt something, and everyone who might have stood with you is already meat.

KFC does not grow and breed chickens. They buy it in bulk from different farms. That site is a load of crap.
I'm one of those multi-taskers that care about animal AND human violations:
http://www.thehungersite.com (check out all 5 tabs on the top there)
http://www.therainforestsite.com
Now everybody quit fucking whining about semantics and save a little of the world today.
I'm not saying its right to treat animals like that, and that they should be continued to be treated like that... In my opinion, those funds and energy would've been better off to save human life, make the future better for people, so eventually we'll be able to minimise any human suffering and concentrate on developing friendlier and safer production techniques etc etc. etc.Quote:

oh well i'm done with this thread anyway, i'd trow in some survival of the fittest crap but I cant be arsed, aint gonna argue over opinions, and dont feel like reading posts of people trying to prove my opinions wrong or something... Its noble if you do something good for the chicken cause, do whatever the fuck you deem neccesary and important, and dont let anyone tell you otherwise (:P). It is just in my opinion, those efforts would be better concentrated on saving fellow human beeings.
Chickens will always be eaten. Live with that.
Just let them have a nice chickeny happy life.
That's my opinon. EAT THEM but let them live a nice happy chicken life, so they can cluck around...lay eggs get a girlfriend and stuff and be really happy.
CT, do you really think it takes resources to stop abuse? That's like saying you need money to brighten someone's day.
How is that site a load of crap anyway? Did you watch the videos?
