My B Complex bottle says B3 is essential for a healthy brain and nervous system, B1 and B2 release energy in the body, B1 is also required for normal development, physical performance and well-being, B2 can assist concentration and maintain normal mood and memory, and B12 is important for maintaining normal cardiovascular health.
So now you know.
According to Wikipedia (on Folic Acid/B9):
Memory and mental agility
In a 3-year trial on 818 people over the age of 50, short-term memory, mental agility and verbal fluency were all found to be better among people who took 800 micrograms of folic acid daily ( twice the current RDA ) than those who took placebo. The study was reported in The Lancet on 19 January 2007.
Or on Pantothenic acid/B5:
Dream Stimulant
Taken before bedtime can increase the likeliness of having/remembering dreams with elevated vividness.
or on B6:
At least one preliminary study has found that this vitamin may increase dream vividness or the ability to recall dreams. It is thought that this effect may be due to the role this vitamin plays in the conversion of tryptophan to serotonin.
Also, just so you know, one cup of milk contains 15% of the Recommended Daily Value of B12. So having a warm glass of milk should provide you with not only a bit of Vitamin B naturally, which in turn helps your memory, it can also make you fall asleep faster (well sort of, there are only very minute sources of melatonin and tryptophan in it). This way you don't have to buy any extra supplements. Unless for this to work you need to have like 700% of the Recommended Daily Value, which I think you can get from liver, clam, mollusks, etc.
What convinced me that it's the pill was the fact that I was in a dry spell of bad recall even in the mornings for weeks. And then have a 1 to 1 transfer of memory into an LD (miracle) complete with back up plan when it did not go my way as expected.... Then stopped the pill for a while and bad recall again. But the pill cannot be taken consecutively within a 6 hour period or I'll have cramps in the head...:P. Does anyone know what causes it? Maybe it's too strong for me.
