Here in 2 days I'll be done with all my chores on the Cultural Fare I'm helping to organise.. Then I'll be able to write something worthy.
Dreamviews education imo is a horrible title...it's not standout. If I knew nothing about dreamviews and was an average joe..."Dreamviews Education" wouldn't standout to me because I wouldn't see why I would need to be "educated about dreamviews." Remember, you're selling. You're selling your title, you're selling the back of the book, you're selling the table of contents, the literature, and ultimately...yourself...so don't sell yourself short, pun unintended. Since dreamviews isn't widespread noone knows what a dreamviews is let alone why they should be educated about it. The title should have something that will grab the reader or make the reader ask themselves "What's this about?" Let me give you an example to add further credibility as to what I'm saying. Before Henry Ford introduced the "automobile" to the public...the world was still pretty much a horse drawn carriage society. Henry knew that he had an awesome product/machine but he needed an awesome way to relate it to the people. Since noone knew what an "automobile" was yet...he first called his automobiles..."horseless carriages". That was sheer brilliance. Why?Quote:

A) How to stay awake in your dreams, a book by dreamviews.
(This title is aimed at causing the person reading the title to ask themselves "How is that possible? That's an oxymoron..." Chances are the next step is that the reader will pickup the book, read the back and/or table of contents. BAM, you just piqued interest through your title alone.)
B) Dreamviews: A comprehensive guide on how to have fun with your mind.
(This title again is interesting, but ambiguous and vague enough to pique a passer-by's interest enough to pickup the book and read the back and/or table of contents)
C) How to live your dreams without ever leaving your bed, a book by dreamviews.
(It's pretty safe to safe that humans have dreams/goals/hopes/aspirations that they would like to achieve, wouldn't you like to live/act out your dreams as if it were really happening without having to wait another day for it? If you're a member of the microwave society, then the answer is yes. 'btw, if that went over your head...don't worry about it, you're a member.' So this automatically grabs people and gets them asking themselves "how is that possible? Live my dreams without leaving my bed? Let me find out what this is about..." In instances like this...curiosity would only help the curious cat...and our pocketbooks. I hope you see my point.)

I like the "Dreamviews: a comp......." because Dreamviews can be both the name of the authors and the name of the book itself.
I guess I'd suggest "Dreamviews: staying awake in your dreams". But as jeff said, title is of least matter

Alright, I just have to insist. WE know what "Dreamviews" is, but a reader doesn't. The first and third examples on Jeff's post are just akin to: "A precise guide to enhancing memory, a book by deadturtles." Who on earth is deadturtles? Strange, isn't it?
On the second example by Jeff, however, the ambiguity is used in our favour: Dreamviews can be seen both as the name of the authors and the name of the book itself. Not to mention, I believe naming the whole book Dreamviews is a great idea.

Seeker just replied to me and he set us up with our own forum in the Education forum. So now we need to decide what polls and questions we want to set up. So let's start brainstorming!

Wow...you guys have been busy in my 24 hour absence.
Just saying, if you need any parts doing or gaps filling i would be happy to help out. I could do a nice section on building motivation and inspirational ideas for dreams and lucid dream plans so that people are not bored, just let me know if i am needed :)

As far as the polls go, I think we need a separate poll asking these questions for EVERY method:
"Difficulty" 1-10 rating
"Average Success rate" % in 10% intervals (ex: 0-10%, 10-20%)
"Average times attempted in a time period (probably a month)" never, 1-2, 3-5, 6-9, 10-15, 16-25, 25+
Possibly a question on the quality of lucid dream the method produces, but I honestly don't know whether the correlation between method and quality is very strong.
Give me some feedback and I'll start putting some polls up.

- I believe we would need a thread with the plans we have for the book. A thread to keep a relation of the chapters and content for the project. That way, we can consult these data easily. News should also be posted there, as well as tutorial use permissions.

I like the ideas except I think we should have multiple polls for the simple reason that I think it would be beneficial to have hard data of the dreamviews people. That's just me though; if the others agree with you then I will politely secede :)
Wow, you guys have there a very good project, this is really interesting.
I offer my help as a graphic designer. It will be nice for that book to give him a professionnal design. Maybe I can also make a couple of original illustrations, if it make sense.
But also I believe that just doing something with a professionnal-looking typography will add a lot to the credibility of the book. Then, if you need a graphic designer, or at least an illustrator, tell me. It will be a joy to contribute to the making of the book.
philquiet, I don't see a reason not to have a graphic designer. A Good cover is the first step to a succesful book. Not only that, but certain aspects of the book might require schemes and illustrations for the best of understanding, and simply getting those from the Internet is not a good idea.
If there's anything that needs an illustration, I'll let you know :P. For example, the stages of sleep might require something visual. I discourage, however, the use of colour inside the book itself: it should be black and white, for the sake of price and standard.
I could make a cover, but I dont have any ideas of what to make, could you guys give me some ideas?
I wish I had ideas for the cover lol. The only truth, as of now, is that it be blue (the concesual colour of lucidity hehee).
But then, all ideas are welcome.
