Has anyone ever encountered evil while LDing?

I just responded to a post about how once in a lucid dream I shot "white energy balls" at something evil.

I had just become lucid and was walking toward the front door when I saw but more importantly "felt" something evil coming towards me. I tried to make out what it was but it was too dark and seemed more shadow than solid. I felt no fear but stated simply "I am protected by pure white light", raised my arms and shot white energy balls from my fists into it. Whatever it was disappeared and I went on with the rest of my dream.

I also stated that the reason I was able to fire on the "shadow" was that not only did I believe that I could shoot energy balls but that I "expected" that the energy balls would come and they did.

Relating this experience made me wonder if anyone else has ever encounted anything evil or had a bad/unsettling experience in a lucid dream and, if so, how did you react to it?

P.S.. please don't let this topic scare you away from LDing because ultimately you can change the outcome of a LD if you truely believe you can..

I had a really bizarre False Awakening once where I too felt "evil" and saw a shadow like figure. I don't know anything about energy balls so I didn't try to fight it. It was almost like there was nothing there, not even a shadow...a ghost spirit...something evil I don't know. Anyway it grabbed me and held my hands behind my back constraining me and I was screaming and screaming and begging for it to let me go. I caught a glimpse of myself in a mirror and saw myself screaming and saw my hands behind my back but there was nothing there constraining me. It was the strangest feeling. Anyway, I'll spare you all the graphic details but alot more happened before I finally woke up. It scared the hell out of me...but I haven't let it stop my LDing...I've had far too many wonderful and amazing experiences to let one or two bad ones get me down.

I had a dream about bankers blowing up my house because my dad couldn't pay the car bill one month. They were evil. I knew it wasn't real considering the fact that used C-4's and had automatic shotguns. It was not cool. I just hid and watched. It pained me to see it.

Another dream I will not talk about it, but it left me mentally unstable for a while.

I've had alot of strange things happen in my LDs. When I was little I started to LD because of my resolve to destroy the evil in my nightmares. I used to have ones where I hid.. then one night, I decided I would start to make fun of what was in my dreams.. and I did, it worked VERY well for LDing too, as I would transfer outta the nightmare, and into a nice LD. For a long time, i would do this. Then the nightmares stopped.. and so did my LDs. My dream recall went on decline in the years following.

I came to these forums... i don't know what made me want to dream again, all I know is i wanted my LDs. Soon after my recall picked up. I had become a very different person in my LDs. The "nightmares" i now had were situations that brought on intense anxiety. They started small, I would have a dream about going to school with a huge ass knife on me. Anxious i would not want to get caught as I could get into trouble. My mind played out every remote situation that would turn out being nervewracking. I had one where I killed a person in self-defense, then I had to cover it up and make it seem like I did not do it. So i went around, I killed a witness I was so scared, then a few people found me out. My girlfriend called me a monster, and the cops wouldn't stop interrogating me. Other dreams would have those close to me die and leave intense sadness... I would wake up and just be happy things were not as they were in the dreams.

This does not go without saying that I still did have good dreams, ones that would involve me getting something I wanted, or doing something fun.

Well.. recently, things have taken a VERY perplexing turn. The other night I had a dream where one of my best friends got possessed by an intense evil.. he was still there, but looked feverish, and he told me I had to stay away. A couple times he lost control and lashed out at me. So he left, and the rest of the dream was me, by myself. It started out good.. then I felt evil in some places, just a presence..

Eventually, it overwhelmed me, and the scariest thing happened to me EVER. I am used to becomming paralysed by nightmares and stuff, but this was far worse. This "presense", it began to control me, I would hear voices in my head in the dream, my body would not obey and did its own thing... then I started to speak, but.. i wasn't speaking, the being was controlling my speech. I was horrified. I woke up, and was sleep paralysed.. so i kept cycleing in and out of this dream. Even out of the dream I STILL felt as If i was being controlled.

I almost had a nervous breakdown.. the whole day I was a wreck.. I would zone out.. start to shake, I made up the excuse I just felt a little feverish, but it was horrible... really... really.. horrible.

On about the same strangeness level, theres a dude who appears in my dreams from time to time.. who can control them more then I can.. I'm not afraid of him, i've even tried to kill him, but he's annoying because, he randomly appears.. and tells my I can or cannot do crap in my dreams.

Once this guy walked by in my dream and he really scared me. He looked normal and everything and he didn't really do anything but for some reason he scared me. He scared me so much I ended up getting rid of him(kind of just deleted him from the dream). Then this other time I felt the same thing from another person and the first thing I thought of doing was to get rid of him too. I stopped myself though and the feeling went away, didn't bother me at all. I ended up talking to him.

Anyway, I don't really think there is "evil" in lucid dreams. Theres no reason, if your full lucid, to ever be scared. As long as you remeber its just a dream, nothing can happen. The only harm a dream can do is scare you, and if you dont let it do that it has nothing.

I had a lot of 'dark encounters' in the past. Lately, however I still have them but I seem to be able to deal with them in a different way. In the past, the encounters soul purpose (whatever it was, something concrete or not) seemed to be to do something to me, in a negative way of course. But lately, I've been able to actually communicate with these..evils. But in any case, these evils feel very..cold, and filled with hatred. Pure cold, hatred. Or sometimes other kinds of dark, sad, energies. But I usually approach these things with initial neutrality and that sometimes results in relative peace (even though the bad 'vibes' dont go away). But I dont really feel like going into detail.

Lucius, i've been doing something similiar to that recently.. I found if I become the darkness in my dreams, then nothing can bother me..

I have to say, dreams have introduced me to the true meaning of 'evil'.

Never in real life have I felt such pure evil as I have sometimes in dreams. It is a feeling absolutely indescribable until you feel it. And when you do... You'll know.

It's not like an ordinary bad presence in your dream. When I'm lucid, I know what I can deal with. Practically everything, except this, but I've usually been so shook from it that I haven't tried.

I had this one dream when I was a kid where I wasn't lucid, but I was in my Mom's room, (My mom and dad split a long time ago, and at the time I lived with her.) and my dad would walk from right to left in the hallway right beside the door. But he was distinctly evil. He had a sort of firey blackness around him, very dark clothing and skin tone, red eyes. And he would walk quickly right by this doorway, right to left repeatedly, he never went back from left to right, which just made it creepier. I got this overwhelming evil presence from him.

The only light was in my mom's room, and she was there with me, sitting on her bed. When I asked her about it she said that if I just paid no attention he wouldn't hurt us. I would glance up once in a while to watch him quickly stalk by, his eyes ALWAYS locked with mine as he walked by, glaring at us. He was stuck behind the doorway for the entire dream and the hallway was pitch black.

I've experianced it a few other times when I've been lucid, but I can't remember specific instances, I only know that they've occured. I will fight this presence next time I meet it and I'm lucid. I don't doubt that I'll win, I've done things I didn't even know I was capable of while dreaming.

Believe me when I say that if you ever find something in a dream you think you can't get rid of, you can. There have been times when I see something I think there's no way I can beat. I usually end up squashing whatever it is with ease by just unleashing emotion/whatever. Your only enemy in a dream is fear. If you have none, then that realm is yours. Period.

If your subconscious is fighting your conscious on something.. you can't kill it or get rid of it.. you have to appease it. In my case, i have it appear as a mysterious person.. who tells me I can't do certain things in my dreams.. after trying to kill him.. and doing everything.. i finally gave up, and relized it was a part of me trying to fight against something.

Hmm... I'll tell you about a dream I had a couple of months ago. It wasn't lucid though. I had a false awakening in my mom's bedroom (obviously, I went to sleep in my own room, but it never occured to me to wonder). My mom came by and we talked about something, then she went out of the room and closed the door, and I was trying to fall asleep again. Then I saw the doorknob turning, but then it turned back as if the someone who turned it changed his mind about entering the room. I thought it was my mom, so I call her and ask what she wanted, but she doesn't answer. So I stand up, go to the door and open it. There's no one in the hallway. I call her some more but she doesn't answer. At this point, I am absent minded and thinking about something, and closing the door. But the door won't close, there's some kind of pressure that keeps me from closing it fully, as if there's a strong wind blowing against it or something. I'm still absent minded so I decide that it is indeed a wind, which occasionaly can happen in real life if the windows aren't closed (even though in the dream I didn't HEAR any wind), and I try to close the door again, harder, but it still won't close. I try a third time, and then BANG! The door suddenly swings open with force, and I wake up. The split second when the door flew open was the most terrifying moment I remember in a long time.

Not exactly an "evil presence", but it's the closest experience I've had.

Yesterday before I was going to bed I found a big spider in my bedroom, and I'm scared of spiders. Of course, I dreamt of spiders last night. There were LOTS of black spiders on my wall, and medium-sized yellow spiders, with short legs, fat bodies and a hard shell (exoskeleton). they were crawling slowly, and I could feel them crunching under my feet when I stepped on them! :shakehead2: uuggh well that's evil!!!! spiders.... :mad:

that sounds creepy Jumpy. A few weeks ago, i had a dream about spiders too. I was sitting in the backseat of a car and there were thousands of small spiders swarming all over the seat in front of me. I was wearing shorts and i was trying to sit back as far as possible in the seat so i didn't get any spiders on my legs. Then someone who was sitting next to me exclaimed that he was bitten by a spider and how much it hurt. Around then i couldn't take it anymore so i awakened myself from the dream

In my opinion, the only evil you will encounter n your dreams is the evil that resides in yourself. Could be a good thing, could be bad thing. But other than that.... Oh hell nevermind.
