I think that's what helped me become lucid, it's because I really wanted to see her, not just for my own self-interest, but for the sake of her own well being as a human being.
The last lucid I had before this one, I stayed up nearly over 90-100 minutes, and was able to go into a dream immediately after staying still and letting my mind wander a little bit.
I also find that I was too eager with WILDing to happen, I always thought that I needed a lot of time in order to be in a WILD, but I find that I really think that 2 minutes feels like forever, so I decided to not care about the time, how much effort I put in, I just decided to roll over until something happened, and to let my desire to help this friend of mine be the fuel that would help me become aware.
I hope this makes sense, I think that as long as I stay up for at least 15 minutes, but not too much, I can get into the dream state with ease after some fiddling around.
I can go into the dream state if I pass the 90 minute mark, but it takes a little longer, but not by a lot.
