My first lucid dream! Happened in a weird way though.

I have tried to become lucid for the past month. Then all of a sudden, when i was taking a nap a couple of hours before dinner i woke up and immidiately closed my eyes again since i was still tired. Just for the fun of it i tried to stay completely still. I started to notice colors moving into my vision, and then all of a sudden BAM! i was in the middle of a dream in some sort of pirate mmo character selection.
The time it took from when i closed my eyes to being in the dream were about 10 seconds! :shock:

The dream, as mentioned above, took place in some sort of pirate mmo, and as i entered, the first thing i saw was a character selection and i was watching in 3rd person. Excited as i was, i just wanted to move on, and then i was watching in first person view. I found myself in some kind of beach house with a door leading outside, where i would see 3 people waving at me. At first, i rubbed my hands to make the dream more clear, since it was very blurry and it worked, but i was so much in a hurry that i didn't try to really notice my surroundings, which i still regret. Then i just ran past the 3 people outside and saw a vast beach with a big island in the distance, just as i noticed this the dream began to "fade" so i though; "I should try spinning, people online says it works like a charm". And so i did, and the speed at which i were spinning was quite mindblowing. Then i found myself on another beach (possibly the island), shipwrecked and with torn clothes. I could see a village in the distance and at this point i started to wonder about limits, so i decided to try it out. I always dreamt of being a "monster" when i was younger, so i would try and spread some terror. I ran (on all four lol?) towards the village and when i arrived at the first hut i bashed my arm through and dragged out a man by the throat! :eek: I then proceeded to run with him only lifting him in my right hand, then i thought: "would i really be able to carry a man in one arm like this?" and then he became heavy as **** so i tossed him away, and at this point i was followed by 4-5 other people with stone axes, one of them threw his axe at me, and as i tried to catch it i noticed the dream was fading again, but it was too late and i woke up.
This was the most AWESOME experience in my life, and i am definitely going to try this again.

I really regret being in such a hurry, i would have loved to to really notice the world, but the only thought i had was: "Try as much as possible, maybe you won't become lucid again ever!"

Does anyone know if the "technique" i used is well known? or was it just a coincidence? I simply woke up without moving a single muscle, and then closed my eyes and focused on the colors. I am 100% honest when i tell you, it didn't take more than 10 sec from being awake to finding myself in my dream.

(EDIT) I forgot to say this, the dream lasted about 3-4 min.

What you did could have been a WILD or DEILD. They are two very known and good techniques.

And about that 10 second gap, I totally believe you. Do you know how fast I have done it? ...1 second. :shock: Literally just laid back down, closed my eyes and boom!

First of all, thank you very much for the answer! I was starting to question myself if it really happened or i just dreamt that i was in control, if you know what i mean. Simply because i didn't think it possible with so "little" effort.

It was awesome! I had expected it to be a couple of seconds (thus the rush) because i read people got overexcited and woke up.

After i woke up i couldn't stop laughing! it's simply an experience you can't describe to other people who haven't experienced it! And you get the feeling that you HAVE to tell someone, simply because they are missing out on the experience of being completely free.

It's really amazing that you did it that quick, but i have no trouble believing you either after my own experience.
I was like: "Okay, let's try this... Wow, legs starting to tingle, shit!... Amazing colors... Hope i don't hallucinate something ev...... " BAM! DREAMING! i was AMAZED!

Regarding the technique, it could be a variation of WILD. But the most amazing thing about it is that you are almost guaranteed a lucid dream as long as criterias are made. Waking up, staying completely still, closing your eyes and focus on being awake.

(EDIT) Just read you post. What you experienced sounds cool! And i am now certain i was experiencing a DEILD
