Thread: My first lucid dream! Happened in a weird way though.

I have tried to become lucid for the past month. Then all of a sudden, when i was taking a nap a couple of hours before dinner i woke up and immidiately closed my eyes again since i was still tired. Just for the fun of it i tried to stay completely still. I started to notice colors moving into my vision, and then all of a sudden BAM! i was in the middle of a dream in some sort of pirate mmo character selection.
The time it took from when i closed my eyes to being in the dream were about 10 seconds!

The dream, as mentioned above, took place in some sort of pirate mmo, and as i entered, the first thing i saw was a character selection and i was watching in 3rd person. Excited as i was, i just wanted to move on, and then i was watching in first person view. I found myself in some kind of beach house with a door leading outside, where i would see 3 people waving at me. At first, i rubbed my hands to make the dream more clear, since it was very blurry and it worked, but i was so much in a hurry that i didn't try to really notice my surroundings, which i still regret. Then i just ran past the 3 people outside and saw a vast beach with a big island in the distance, just as i noticed this the dream began to "fade" so i though; "I should try spinning, people online says it works like a charm". And so i did, and the speed at which i were spinning was quite mindblowing. Then i found myself on another beach (possibly the island), shipwrecked and with torn clothes. I could see a village in the distance and at this point i started to wonder about limits, so i decided to try it out. I always dreamt of being a "monster" when i was younger, so i would try and spread some terror. I ran (on all four lol?) towards the village and when i arrived at the first hut i bashed my arm through and dragged out a man by the throat! I then proceeded to run with him only lifting him in my right hand, then i thought: "would i really be able to carry a man in one arm like this?" and then he became heavy as **** so i tossed him away, and at this point i was followed by 4-5 other people with stone axes, one of them threw his axe at me, and as i tried to catch it i noticed the dream was fading again, but it was too late and i woke up.
This was the most AWESOME experience in my life, and i am definitely going to try this again.

I really regret being in such a hurry, i would have loved to to really notice the world, but the only thought i had was: "Try as much as possible, maybe you won't become lucid again ever!"

Does anyone know if the "technique" i used is well known? or was it just a coincidence? I simply woke up without moving a single muscle, and then closed my eyes and focused on the colors. I am 100% honest when i tell you, it didn't take more than 10 sec from being awake to finding myself in my dream.

(EDIT) I forgot to say this, the dream lasted about 3-4 min.
