Secret Room
I'm just curious if anyone else has anything like this.
I have had several dreams over the years that I'm discovering a secret room. I even remember one from when I was a kid (I guess that's not so strange, I remember dreams I had when I was 4 but I have trouble remembering things that happened to me in the waking world when I was a kid). The path to the room is always the same, and I always recognize it. I always think "I'm about to visit the room again!"
There's nothing special about it, aside from the fact that it's a hidden room. Here's the path I always take: I'll be walking past a doorway in an abandoned or vacant house, I may have walked past it before in the dream but this time it looks familiar. I become aware that I'm dreaming and I'm about to find The Room again. The interior of this room is a little messy, piles of clothes or junk everywhere. On the far side of the room is a painting, behind which is a small tunnel or crawlspace that leads to another room that is also full of junk. I know that I'm the first one to enter the room in many years. This room is connected to another by a short and narrow hallway, in the next room there is a heavy, wooden double door. I go through it and there is a staircase (usually a spiral) that goes down. I never make it all the way down the stairs, but I'm always trying. I want to see what's in the room at the bottom of them.

Does the dream just end halfway down the stairs or is something stopping you from proceeding?
I have a Secret Room too.
Like you I also have to go through several rooms before I can reach the door to the Secret Room. I never seem to remember how I get in the first one though.

This dream I've had for years, haven't been there for a while though.

The stairs go all the way down, but I never make it to the bottom. I either wake up or someone/something stops me.
Actually, I take that back. Some years ago, I had a kind of...extravagant version of the dream. The rooms were part of a mansion, the spiral staircase was polished dark wood with a pale gold runner. When I got to the room at the bottom it was a vast circular room, the walls entirely covered with painted portraits. The ceiling went so high that many of the paintings were obscured by shadow.
That's the only time I made it there, and I didn't get to explore before waking up.

According to one possible interpretation, houses and rooms in our dreams represent our mind and it's nooks and crannies. So the secret room could be a long forgotten or supressed memory, or just a memory of something that is for you to discover. Exciting!

This sounds interesting, but I have never had this experience before!

I hope eventually you will be able to go all the way down and find out what awaits you there :)
When you do, be sure to share it with us all ^.^

I'll definitely share it when I finally get to see it! =)
