I can't stay lucid!
This is a problem that has been occurring for the last couple years
When I dream, and I find that I'm dreaming, I tend to wake up after a short period of time after realizing it. For example, last night I was dreaming, and hearing a song in class, i think it was 'i hope you dance' by Lee Ann Womack. And i thought, "wtf? only I listen to that." so I realized that I was lucid dreaming. Usually, from this point on, I feel like the depth of my sleep is extremely shallow, and sudden movements can bring me back awake. For ex., after I realized I was lucid dreaming I decided to open my eyes really wide and lift my head up to look at the ceiling, but I actually opened my real eyes and lifted my real head and woke up. dammit!
Does this happen because I'm too much of a light sleeper? I'm always afraid after becoming lucid, of waking up at any moment

I have been able to open my eyes during LD's but have not been able move my eyes or head. When I close my eyes again I return to the LD scene. Perhaps you and trying too hard to control your LD and your excitement is waking you up. You could try just letting it go by itself for a bit then start on small controls like pushing your finger through your palm. The control bit is a skill that has to be learnt.
good luck.

:welcome: to Dreamviews!
Once you become lucid, try looking around the dream, touching objects (really feeling them, their texture, temperature, etc.). Also, try not to think about your real body.
