I usually get a "cool, I'm dreaming" and I go on to do things
My first and only LD was of excitement. I mean I became lucid just like that and I was trying hard to fight the urge to do a RC, eventually, caved in :P I'm sure my reaction(s) for the next LDs would still be excitment but less excited once I reach my 6th, 7th, etc.... since I know that I have the techniques down :)
In my first LD I didn't really get excited, I just felt a bit strange, and then the dream started fading. I managed to stay in the dream for about twenty seconds before I woke up.
Usually when I first become lucid, I take a moment to marvel at how being lucid in a dream feels. It amazes me every single time!
And usually, it's accompanied by a thought, "Oh hey, this is actually a dream! Cool!"
Oh, I'm dreaming! *makes herself an outfit, climbs out of the window, summons one of her horses and goes off to do random stuff*
My first one was so overwhelmingly exciting, but I remembered immediately about being calm, and I calmed myself and was able to do whatever it is that I decided to do. The one I just had last night was far more calm. There was, of course, bewilderment to start things off, but I relaxed briefly after.
At first i'm like, SCOOORE. Then I think about my options. The only ones i've thought of were summoning people. I always forget the cool stuff I read that I could try -_-
I usually go something like, 'yeah, I'm dreaming!'
I often think 'finally, I realized that', too.
As I am relatively new to this, I get excited and say, "Yes! I am Lucid! What should I do? I have to work on remembering what to do once I become lucid.
oh no! I'm lucid! I hate this, I'm going to wake up!
:D
"Great, finally." then i wake up.
im usually like "yep, here we go" haha
At first, I'm like "Kay." But then I'm still like "Kay."
The novelty of the realization wears off after awhile. Lucidity is still sweet as balls, though. Whatever the hell that's supposed to mean.
Usually when I see a dream sign I go, "Oh, I'm dreaming." Sometimes my head will disconnect and I'll be in the spinning world of black and colored rings. But now that I've mastered my excitement a bit more, I wait for a moment, rub my hands or something like that, then go off to explore whatever crazy world my head has made up for me.
In all of my lucids from day 1 of my first known lucid since i joined here, i've always remained calm, i never got excited one time in my lucids, not even during vigourous activity.
I get really pissed off because I didn't realise it sooner :P And somtimes it's in the beginning of the dream. Figgers
I only had two lucid dreams in my life yet. The first one was a nightmare I had as a kid. I didn't knew anything about LD's and so the only thing I did was shouting for my family to wake me up...
The second LD was after I learned about lucid dreaming. I'm serious, I don't know what I thought or said after I recognized that I'm dreaming. I just started a experiment.
I would like to know, how you experienced guys did react the first times you got lucid. Did you just say "Cool, I'm dreamin'" and started some cool stuff, like you're doing it now or did you freaked out and woke up or something?
Greetings from Germany,

My reactions all depends...
It depends on what was going on inside the dream that caused me to become lucid..
sometimes i am like "YES I AM DREAMING!"
other times it maybe so realistic i can't tell if I am dreaming or sleeping and I say things like "Holy fuck...are you serious....I'm Dreaming!?!"
so it just all depends, but for the most part I am excited haha

Most of the times its a "YAY!" moment.
When I first had a Lucid Dream I didn't know what one was, in fact my first lucid dream was the prompt to come online and discover what the dream was. I was dreaming as normal then something rediculous and completely unrealistic happened, though I can't really remember what, and I said something 'No way! This is a dream!' I then had enough time to do a few things like walk around my town, talk to random people and think how cool it was before I woke up.
I'm to the point where I don't even say the words any more. I just know I'm dreaming and I look for something to jump off of or up too. This morning I had about 5 lucid dreams, each one longer and more intense.
I always encounter people and either tell them I'm dreaming them or ask them if they are also dreaming. for the first time I got someone to say, " Oh wow, I just might be dreaming too" I always float up in the air, usually spinning slow at the same time. I always need someone to watch me and often call to the person to watch me jump up to the top of that building, or something close to that. So I guess lucid dreams can be lessons too, because the people usually ignore me, as they should. I should learn not to be such a show off.
There's always different things I want to try, but I find myself floating, flying or jumping off buildings. I've been wanting to create a "paradise like " scenery and I did it for the first time this morning. I can always control my actions, but rarely the scenery.
Another thing I always attempt, is to try to go from lucid dream to OBE.
I have heard that falling backwards will bring you into an OBE, but it hasn't worked so far and I've attempted it about 5 times. I always fall through what ever I'm on and keep falling while looking up, but when I land, I'm still in a dream state.
Completely depends on the situation.
If it's a quiet, serene type of setting, I'll usually just think to myself, "I'm dreaming. Awesome." I will remain relatively calm, look at my hands to ground myself into the dream, and think of what to do with my lucidity.
If it's some surreal, completely fantastic dream setting, I'm just kind of in awe at everything, and I'll often forget to look at my hands and I'll just gawk at everything around me.
But, usually, when I become lucid, it's due to danger. I'm either being attacked by some person or thing, or in another, potentially lethal scenario. So, I'll realize I'm dreaming, because of panic. I'll realize that I'm holding all the cards. I'll get this huge, evil grin on my face. I'll confront whoever/whatever was attacking me...
...and I'll punish them.
I'm always like HELL YEAH!!! Now I can... *wakes up* But when I keep it stabilized, I'm usually mentally going through all my lucid goals and deciding what to do next.
This morning I had two lucid dreams and no galantamine. Hey, the galantamine works, but it shouldn't have to be a crutch. I don't care either way, as long as I become lucid.
BTW, "lucid goals" I like that term. I do the same thing. My biggest lucid goal is to go from Lucidity to astral travel. So this morning when I became lucid, for the second time, I tried to do exactly that. Well, in my first lucid dream I noticed when I shot straight up in to the sky, extremely fast, I started having
vibrations, so I tried it again in the second lucid dream and again I had vibrations. So I decided to try and roll out of my body. I was rolling for a long time, I thought I might roll off the bed, meaning, I thought my astral body would roll off the bed. Well I thought it had and I ended up in some pathway through some houses and a basement. I kept looking at my arms and asking myself am I astral traveling? I don't think I was.
Then some entity, well an entity that has been with me for 2 and a half years
started grabbing the back of my neck and picking me up and swinging me around, which I hate, it does it every once in awhile and messes with my lucid dreams. I also think it is the cause of me not astral traveling.
It touches me on a daily basis in my waking state, but I do everything in my power to ignore it. It's harder to ignore it in my lucid dream state.
I've tried to confront it in my lucid dream state, but it just stays behind me, just like in the waking state. I know this all sounds weird, but I swear by it.
Hopefully, one day, I'll astral travel and some day this friggin entity will be gone and I'll finally be free!!
Wow, I totally lost the point, sorry. Just the look of the dream world triggers a lucid dream, before it would take alot more, so maybe I'll be having many more, minus the entity, hopefully!
I generally just think, awesome, another LD. I'm going to have to update my signature..." then do dreamgoals.
I'm like: "Sick I'm dreaming... Now how will I get out of this shit*..."
* My LDs usually occur after a nightmare. Ex: last night some guy was strangling me so I did a nose RC, BANG Lucid! Unfortunately I couldn't even move my hands to give the guy a hug/beat him up, and I wasn't thinking straight so I couldn't blow myself up (I've done it before) or dematerialize. So I just woke myself up... Into another dream that ended after about 20 seconds.
I was like ''am dreaming''...i wasn't like super hyper about it, but i woke up..)=
Usually, I'm like "I'm dreaming", or "oh, so this is a dream". Then, just go about things. I used to get MORE excited- but not too excited to where that was the end of the LD.
I can report what will happen in my next LD tomorrow (yes, I'm just that confident, I just had a 3 LD's this morning, the morning before that, and before that).
"Hey I'm dreaming! What should I do?"
I'm usually pretty calm, I'm just like "Oh, I'm lucid, I better do as much as possible before time runs out."
When I become lucid, I usually realize that 1) my dream sucks; 2) I've fallen asleep while doing homework and I need to finish it; 3) I need to wake up for school or something. At this point, I employ a number of techniques to induce waking.
If none of the three conditions above apply, then I just roll with the dream plot and try to spice it up a little. That, or immediately start flying.
Lately, whenever I become fully lucid, I immediately concentrate on whatever I've programmed myself to do (yay, mantras!). My current goal is to reach the moon and actually have a chance to wander around there, so after taking in the scenery and marvelling at the detail, I immediately attempt to open a portal. In the last couple of months I haven't been able to sustain lucid dreams for a long period of time, though.
I find myself in a semi-lucid state more often, though. I'm partially aware that I'm dreaming and able to exert control over the dream (includes superpowers), and I'm completely aware that nothing can hurt me. Most of my falling dreams are semi-lucid (I hit the ground and get up again). In this state, I let the current dream play out and usually slip back into non-lucid dreams at some point.
i usually start freaking out and try to do as much stuff as possible before it ends, or im like ohh yeah if its a nightmare and destroy whats there and go into dictator mode
I usually yell or tell a dream character that "I'm in a dream!!!" and yeah, try to do a load of cool stuff. One time (in a dream) this guy broke into my house and wouldn't go, then i did a reality check and realised i was dreaming. So I grabbed him and said "this is MY dream so you listen to ME!" and he did, i felt so kick ass XD
To be honest I thought I would always get over-excited and basically wake myself up, or become REALLY carried away with the concept I was in a dream, or find it difficult to accept. My first time though, it was almost like a "Hey, I'm dreaming. Cool, never had one." and then I walked off. This might have to do with my likely fairly low level of lucidity, but the dream continued for awhile. I just accepted it. I still thought it was awesome, but somehow experienced the feeling while suppressing it from my conscious mind which would cause me to awaken.
Or maybe I'm reading too much into it.
My second lucid dream lasted not long at all, and the first thing I did was logical, but probably not smart. I started yelling "Increase Lucidity" and rubbing surfaces, almost unnecessarily, which seemed to jolt me out of it. Still, I felt a sense of...peace and accomplishment, or so.
Last night I had one. In the dream I asked myself if it could really be considered a lucid dream since I'm not controlling the events, but I can still recognise that I'm dreaming and ask myself that questions. Then I told myself to remember the dream so I can post it here.
It worked.
"oh fuck im dreaming. ummmmmmm what do i do???- FLY yes ill FLY. OH SHIT I FORGOT TO STABILIZE" and then i wake up
lol, im working on it
"Oh - I'm dreaming! Great, let's take a look around and see what I can do! This is so awesome, I'm really... really... excited... fading... no... NO... don't wake... up..."
*Awaken*
I have a few type of Reactions:
1. WHAT!?!? This is a dream?!?! Woah, seemed to real!
2. OMG! YES!!!!!! WOOOOOHOOOOOO!
3. Oh... Slips back to normal dream xD
I only had 2 lucid dreams (both on last week) but on the first one I shouted very loud "YEAH IM DREAMING!!" then I woke up xD on the second I said to myself " calm down, calm down" than I woke up again.. :cheeky: dammit 1 second LDs! xD
First Lucid I remember I said
"Wow I'm dreaming i'm having a lucid dream!"
I then ran really fast and lost the lucidness in record time :shadewink:
In FAs I am like "oh, here again" and in dreams "of course, a dream!"
Usually: "Hey, cool! I'm dreaming! Now I can fly!" *starts flying*
It depends.
Usually it's like "great it's a dream!". From time to time it's more like "What!? Is it all a dream?? And I was taking care about this?"-then I get a little bit pissed off because of the time I lost thinking I was awake and didn't realize. Sometimes I got something like "Of course, it's a dream!". And a couple of times it was like "Thank goodness it was just a dream!"
I just get up and fly, once I realize I'm dreaming. I think to myself "What do I want to do the most that I can't do in real life?" as I fly.
I usually start off by flying. then I tend to go over what was on my to do list. All of my lucids have been quite short though so I haven't be able to do that much. Occasionally I try to increase the clarity of my surroundings, but that sometimes opens itself to a whole load of distractions which can make me lose lucidity.
My first lucid dream for some reason I felt no excitement at all because I knew I had a hard day tomorrow, not I'm either angry and excited (???) or I'll shrug it off
Honestly, almost always it's something like:
*realizes that it's a dream*
Yeah, baby!

I very rarely have lucid dreams as I didn't actually start actively trying to achieve them until very recently, but I had my first lucid dream five or six years ago. The dream was extremely negative and starting to freak me out. At one point, the dream seemed to pause and I was given a chance to really look at someone's face... and the person was a fictional character! Once I had processed that this was a fictional character and I was in a dream, I... well, I was pretty calm about it and really just kind of steered the dream into an ending that wasn't terrifying.
