If I want to travel to some location, I usually jump into the scenery head first and think up the new setup of the scenery. Sometimes I land in mid-space where everything is black. Most of the times I lose it then, but I found a trick working. I just imagine the sun, look for the planets, find earth and pull it in.
Some traveling also occurs without my will when I think about something. I find myself walking slowly and confortably, for example a few meters up and down a room.
When I try to move to the past, most of the times I find a clone of myself there, and I cannot enter the world, but only withness as a free camera or something. Sometimes without knowing I morph back into myself and I am able to control again, but most of the times at this exact moment I lose control.
Marlo, interesting methods I'd not heard before.. thanks for sharing! :)
