I'm curious.. how do most of you get from place to place in your lucid dreams?
I myself have walked, flown, and even spun and wished myself elsewhere. I've also walked through a door after determining what would be on the other side.
What is your favorite way to get around?
Well, it depends....
If it is a short distance, I will fly. If I am just wandering around, I will walk. If I have a long distance to go, I will will myself there.
I like to fly. But if I could will myself to where I want to go, I think I'd rather do that instead.
Two of the options in the poll applied to myself...gliding slightly above the ground & Other...I chose Other since I usually use the gliding approach only when showing off or moving across short expansions.
I have a fetish for small motorized vehicles (both real and imaginary) that can travel at faster speeds than in real life. Like electric scooters that can go up to 40 m.p.h. and hover boards that you lie down on (prone position) and stear like a street luge.
All of the above. Just depends on the situation...though I tend to favor flying, as do most people I'm sure.
I always fly dint really try another method but i can fly pretty fast so for the momment Il stick with that!
Space hopper! Seriously, try using one in a dream, wierd stuff can happen while on one.
fly and float and tumble in the air.. woohoo... fun fun.
I almost always fly -- It seems that I do it without even really thinking about it.
Now, finding the destination I want -- that's another matter. I've used spinning before with some success, but many times it fails miserably. And when I fly, I almost never see any recognizable landmarks to find my way.
I would fly if my lucid dreams weren't so short and didn't start in a small dark room all the time!! :mad: I usually stumble around in the dark and my dream ends, so i walk i guess...*grumbles*
wow... i usually find myself in the dark too (after my dream body gets up)... its annoying. :| commanding for lights doesnt work for me (yet?) so i just roam around looking for some light or way out.Quote:

I had an experience once where*I rolled out, landing on my hands and knees into total darkness.
I stated "Clarity now!"... nothing.
I then stated "Increase Clarity!" and a glowing 12 inch square cut into the carpet appeared a few feet in front of me (but all around me was still dark). I crawled toward the square, looked down and was astonished to see that it was a television screen! *
Now, I don't know how many of you know about the old black and white show called the "Honeymooners" that starred Jackie Gleason but that was what was playing. *The images were so crisp and clear it was like I was actually looking down at the scene in real life. *I have never seen a television with a picture that vivid before.. *I was simply spellbound.
As I was watching, the screen slowly started to get smaller and smaller and then disappeared altogether.. but then another 12 inch square appeared a few feet away. *I crawled to it and there was another show playing on it (but unfortunately I can't remember what it was).
I realized that I had my vision back and decided to leave the room. I stood on the table and tried to go through the ceiling but it looked and felt like it does in real life and I couldn't go through it.. and then I woke up. :-(
Flying usually.
But once I took the bus.
I fly for relaxation. I only walk if I am phasing though my surroundings. Often I just stay in one spot and bring wherever it is I want to be to me.
I'm always walking in normal dreams, but once i'm lucid it seems the only mode of transportation for me is flying, always flying, it almost seems harder to walk when I am lucid then to fly...I have trouble just staying on the freakin ground when i'm lucid. when i am flying, it hard to get places too, i'm still new to being lucid, but when I am and flying around there are no recognizable landmarks to where I want to go... Lately I've been trying to get into outer space, yesterda I was soo close...I zoomed up into the upper atmosphere, and saw different planets appear but I couldn't get to them, they just kept getting bigger and bigger as I flew and flew, but never got there...Oh well..
I usuallly teleport, and when Flying doesnt work out, I just tumble across the ground to my destination. Either that or I just sit and watch, as I don't really have a destination in my dreams.
My transportation methods include:
Long jumps
Flying
Walking
When I get around I tend to favour the unusual, I've ridden places on top of speeding trucks and in a giant robot head car with legs. Still, nothing wrong with the classics like flying or making portals in my opinon. :P

Actually, in this one dream, well, I had to order my units around, since it was a star craft dream. ARG how did they surround my base with towers in 1 minute???
It's like a strange video game for my long distance transportation. I take out this staff thing (that magically dissapears after every use and doesn't come back until i need it again) and just strike the ground and think about wherever it is i want to go.
I have also used a plane, a car, walking, and VERY VERY fast running. (you know, it almost looks like you teleported but you didn't, everyone's eyes were just too slow.)
Most of the time I fly but sometimes I drive in a ferrari :lol:
Hey, im a new member, but i just wanna say that i kinda had a lucid dream last night ( 7 April ), and it was cool. Although i know i have done many before, the one i just had was realy cool. Anyway, it involved me moving. I said to myself this is a dream, and basically all i did was close my eyes, and think where to be, and open my eyes and i was there. It was like an instant teleportation. That was the only time i have actually done it, and it was ace :D
I can't realy do anything else but walk, but when I can float I usualy do, gliding sort of, I would love to be able to jump and fly a good 200 yards.
Well... im jsut gonna try closing my eyes again, i know it works. Now then, just to dream and realize that. . . :|
