This is getting old.

I'm getting very tired of this one nightmare that's been haunting me ever since I was 10.

I can rattle it off right now:
It usually starts with me playing in my driveway. The most common is me climbing my favorite climbing tree. No, really, its like, perfect. Some guy drives by in a red truck, only he keeps turning (to get to my house you make a right turn, and then you'd make another right turn to get into my driveway). By the time I see them come out (there's usually two) I start scrambling down. I start to scream. This is the part that is really bad. My screams come out as whispers. No one can hear me plead for help. The two guys grab me and shove me in.

After that it starts to varry. Sometimes it ends, sometimes they just drive me around, and other things. Its also happened where I've been kidnapped by the same people, only with some girls I know in the back seat with me.

The people in the dream have no relation to anyone I've seen in real life. So don't ask me that. :roll:

The reason I'm coming here now is that I've been haunted by this all my life and it is getting very old. I know its stupid, but I'm even afraid of red trucks now. Its just a physiological problem I guess (I hope I spelled that right).

So yeah, any help would be appreciated.

The same thing happend to me from age 7 to 11 about. But my recurring dream was i was at school and i would turn a corner to get something and a wolf would walk up drag me away and start eating me. My screams turned to whispers and my movements became weak, the way i got rid of this was just from graduating from the elementary school and eventually when more important things came along i completely forgot about it. Now that i am saying this though i bet that the dream will happen again and when it does ill be ready :) i will just imagine a gun or knife and shoot it.

I used to have recurring seasonal nightmares of skiing out of control. They were seasonal because I would have these nightmares in wintertime, ski season. In my nightmares I was skiing at very high speed and could not stop and would not slow down no matter whether I went downhill or uphill or up or down stairs. The reason why I am saying this is that I can relate to recurring nightmares: they suck. Sometimes a nightmare gets stuck in one's head, I guess.

Back then I did not know about lucid dreaming yet, and my skiing nightmares stopped at some point in my life, and I don't remember when and why. If I still had recurring nightmares, I would try to fight them with lucid dreaming. I think lucid dreaming was made for recurring nightmares: the perfect antidote. I know you too are persuing LDing, and I wish you luck with becoming lucid during one of these nightmares. If I were you, I would probably then ask one of the kidnappers why I am dreaming of this. Then tell them firmly that I expect these nightmares to stop now. Oh, and if you like, I suppose you could fight those kidnappers and get revenge for all the trouble they have caused you over the years. Actually, if I still had recurring nightmares, I would probably try to incubate them, instead of hoping to avoid the nightmare, think about it and plan ahead that I expect to have my recurring nightmare now, but on my terms this time! :)

I smiled the whole time I read this. :) Unfortunately this is the day AFTER a lucid dream, so I guess I'll have to wait for another one. Or I could try WILDing, but that's unlikely today. Anyways, thanks for that, and I will try to confront it in my next lucid dream. Come at me! :cheeky:
