Its not really about the programs that we watch, although there are only a couple of exeptions to otherwise mindless programs. I is about the lifestyle, the culture that we live in is based on it. I won't lie to you, I love to watch T.V. I watch plenty of it everyday. I just don't believe anything they tell me too. That doesn't mean its good, it just means that hopefully I am more resistant to the crap they feed us everyday, and the lives they teach us to live.
I only watch about 10 shows, and every so often I will watch something that seems interesting. Most of these are pretty much comedies, such as Seinfeld(my personal all-time favorite), Simpsons, Malcolm in the Middle, Futurama, Family Guy, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, News Radio........
Nothing to be taken seriously......
Anyway, we are already in to deep, the downfall of T.V. wouldn't even do much good now. We have already assimilated its culture into our lives, and people are living the ways that we are told to so we can be as cool as the pretty people wearing the X brand genes. It is alive, and in every one of us. All we can do now is to try to refuse every single thing we are taught, for it all comes from the same source, the same idolized idiotized lifestyle...
Go and watch fight club again....and again....and again. Perhaps it is the only answer, the only way to live.......
You're quickly becoming my favorite member. A few things though. TV didn't invent things like fashion and being cool for wearing certain types of clothes. Look through history, fashion has been there all the time, TV just helps to propogate it. Also, I don't think we should refuse everything thing we're taught, if we did that, we'd never progress, evolve, grow or develop as a species. What
should do is question what we are told and never take things at face value. Most of the things you hear on TV or read in the paper are distortions of the truth, but that doesn't mean you should refuse to believe anything you're ever taught. It's just a case of using common sense, researching things for yourself and constantly questioning.[/b]
