This guy thinks very similarly to me... I'm on the path to being where he is...
I just think you don't create an immortal body, so much as... an immortal conscious.
A computer can get turned off.
I don't know if I believe this guy's theory, but playing Devil's Advocate: gagodo, your argument has no value. A computer isnt a living, conscious being.
Interesting article. A lot of my feelings on the possibilities of "mind over matter" coincide with his theory.
Heh. Thanks. :cooler:
My PM box is always open. Other than that, my myspace page link is in my profile. :content:
Are you not hooked up to a UPS like I am? :borg:
I know that energy is just transformed. I would like to think that there has to be some immediatetransfer of energy. And our body heat and matter turning into compost is just half of what is going on after we die.
If our body is only a carrier for our consciousness then perhaps there is some reason to believe our mind rises to could nine.
But I do doubt.

the problim is this: if something has a bigginning, then in all liklyhood it has an end (though that is debatable)
do you remember when you first became aware?
Heh, I think like him aswell. But it seems strange to me why "gurus dieing" seemed strange to him. I mean maby they wanted to die, be "one with god(or universe, or whatever)" if I'm making any sense.
Yes actually. Suprisingly it was when I was like... 3...
Funny thing... I remember waking up from sleep that morning, and not remembering a thing about my life prior. Walking downstairs where my parents were, and they were like "There he is!" and I was like... This is my parents. I remember (as I approached the stairs) thinking something to the effect of aliens.... (to be 100% honest... and this is at 3)
Btw, it's like what the movie Waking Life says... Your whole life is just one continuous moment of saying no to God. When you finally continue to the next moment, is when you finally say "yes".
Have you ever heard of artificial intelligence computer scientist say in the neer future about ten years they will be conscious. The best example i have is deep blue the very powerful chess computer they basically had a competition with a grand master in the middle game he laid a trap so that you have to think creativily to get out of the problem and guess what the computer won so they argue you must have cheated or that the computer thinking creativily i.e. conscious. If somebody think that were nothing more then hardware e.g. neuorons and softward e.g. neural pathways then in my mind their not looking at the facts. Were just a big chess computer.Quote:

Althought death scares me i am not that ignorant to say their a afterlife when all we our is a chess computer. This remind me of savants syndrome when somebody has more control over brain function and can do task similar to a computer but more of a deep blue scale.
so you have a bigginning. Now, do you remember every hour of your life after that?
Ok no, but sorry I don't see your point.
I can't say that there is no such thing without an end. But we must look open mindedly, unless we will stay closed in a box, or like becomingagodo. I was like that, untill I started "working" on my mind, thoughts, consciousness...
The point I am trying to make is that in reality, there is no difference to your mind between a dreamless sleep (in wich you have no recall) and death
That's true. What if you die every night and are replaced with the same person, which has your memories.
The question is what happens to your consciousnes when you die. It's a byproduct of evolution made of "matter". Everything around us is energy, eaven us. So do we actually go anywhere when we die? The way I see it is that we are energy with everything else in the universe, we are no different than the computer we are typing on, we are basically one. So I have a question, when we move does our energy move too, or do "we" just change into something else. Are we just waves of energy, changing "shape" as time goes on, are we just a blob of energy floating around somewhere?
Sounds silly if I read through it again, but it makes sense. At least to me.
Well all i can say is at night the fairies come out to playQuote:

and what if they do?
years ago they didn't think there could be an animal like a platapuss. they have changed there minds now.
Well your to close minded to see that i was agreeing with you. Fairies really do come out to play at night well i once heard my piano go off during a night i asked a scientist and they said the string strink because of cold and this cause vibration then i asked a spirtualist and they said fairies like music so they do it. Stupid scientistQuote:

I don't know the point of your answer, but I can guess that you wanted to make me look like an "idiot". Because you are too smart, science is the only truth ever and because you are just close minded. I could totaly predict your answer, so I just responded in the only way I thought you could understand. The message is I don't care what you think.
But fairies really do exsist you have to believe to have faith. I dont know what happen to you to not believe in fairies but one day they will come to you and you will see the amazing and divine spirits.Quote:
