What tendency of human conciousness?
That's what I meant with my question. I think that it is the tendency to think of oneself as seperate and more important than everthying else, or selfishness. But really knows more about the ego than I do, so I put it as a question. We have this tendency because it is useful for survival.
Yes, because selfishness is a byproduct of the ego. "If I wasn't selfish, I would die" - the ego unconsciously thinks... Since your main concern is your survival, your main concern is all about you. Ironically, the ego confuses what it needs with what it wants.
Dominantly, it is focused in its animal origins. A fundamental proclivity of this general level of consciousness is to be at war. :D Even a "peace protest" shows that there is no understanding of peace is to begin with.
Does all fear come from the ego?
Yeah; fear of death! Most fears usually arise from this one.
I made a big post here: http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=61590
Of course it doesn't always, but I was generalizing.
Can you elaborate on this?
Sure.
Lions for example share the meat of their prey with other lions; so when one day they can't catch anything and they are hungry - the other lions will remember his "altruïstic" act and share their prey with him.
And, when a mother lion is taking care of her critically injured young - she will only try to make it survive as long as it stands a realistic chance of survival. If it gets too bad, it will give up; the young will stop struggling to stay alive (volunatrily die) and the mother will eat the young.
This is because it's all about survival of genes, not survival of the individual. (carrier of those genes)
I hope this somewhat makes sense.
Yeah that's not selfishness. Maternal love and caring within the family is obviously a different situation. It's a natural family bond.
Similarily, one who is selfless and loving to all of life, is pleased to benefit the survival and well-being of others, often before themselves. We don't have to be selfish to survive; survival doesn't necessarily require selfishness.
That makes since. If consciousness is energy. Energy cannot be created nor destroyed. When you die, your consciousness just goes somewhere. And you can shape your own afterlife.
BELIEF is the key. I know it sounds corny, but look what happens when scientists and physicists try to observe quantum matter. If they believe/expect it is there, then it is there. But when its not being observed its not there......watch the double slit experiment. I dont want to hear all that crap about photons and light, materialists keep bringing that up, but they will learn to accept the truth lol. Nothing is concrete, i tmight seem that way because we all percieve/believe is to be that way.
Thoughts and ideas ( consciousness ) is the building block of matter. Lucid dreams for example...explains how powerful thoughts are and how anything is possible.
But the astral plane does sound plausible. I mean how can all of these people astral project, and they all see the same thing.....that's crazy.
But our thoughts make it real. Our thoughts made our whole reality right now realQuote:
We'll have no eyes, so we cannot see.
We'll have no ears, so we cannot hear
We'll have no brain, so we cannot sense existance.
It's not like our consciousness is going to be dropped in a big pool of nothing, we just won't have the tools needed to 'sense' or 'feel' existance.
Watch this video. It will all make more sense.

"Our thoughts made our whole reality right now real" - thoughts are created by the brain -> no brain => no thoughts, no reality.
And please - look at the the keywords mentioned in the info of your video:

Pleeeeaaaase!
No, what that guy said is pretty much right. No eyes for seeing, no ears for hearing, no brain for knowing of existance. All that will be left of you is your skeleton which i have no idea how long they last for before they are nothing, i'm guessing billions of years or forever since we still see dinosaur bones.
Your brain will be gone too. Goodluck bringing people back from the dead without a brain...lol. If you could somehow do it, it definatly wont be THAT person, since their braina nd everything about them is gone.
Fear of death, it's not actually fearing death, it's fearing not being alive. While they sound the same, i guess you could say they can be slightly different.
I am afraid of dieing
I am afraid of not living
It sounds all like nonsense, really. What is death? what is life?
figure out what life is, then you have a chance to figure out death. Saying death is nothingness is just a simple way, for simple people who want a simple answer to a question we have no idea about.
Afterlife, is a simple way for simple people, who want a simple answer. I DON'T WANT A SIMPLE ANSWER, i rather know the truth. Simple answer means you don't even have to think about it, because it's an answer so easy to think about, and it makes sense to you, and you would be looking at these questions all wrong.
the question is what IS death, instead of what happens after we die.
People tend to always think of death...and life. Death is death, while life is life. Are we even real to begin with?
define "real", i know for sure this shit we see aint real. it's materialistic things...that's not real, that's just objects.
We live in our heads, we are not outside of our heads or this would be real. WHAT is real? that is another question. I guess you can get lost and confused trying to figure out what the hell it is. Take a look at dreams, and non dreams, they are both real, even if dreams are just from your thoughts, you are still there, seeing it in action, knowing you are there, being aware that you are aware.
