"The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time."

But..
I still don't understand why life is so sweet, when it just dies, and goes away.
I would like to enjoy it forever, but can't.
All good things must come to an end, but why?
(Don't Fear) The Reaper
All our times have come
Here but now they're gone
Seasons don't fear the reaper
Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain
We can be like they are
- Blue Oyster Cult
I see..
But how does one not fear death?
Ensure that this/your life is sufficiently full and hold your attention there,
not allowing the fear of death to paralyze you.
"It is this sadness of wasted life which probably he will be aware of only at the moment of his death - and then it will be too late."
- J. Krishnamurti
Ill try, thanks.
I still say life is an unfair game.
"And you, who've chosen to love a god. I think that you will find the romance rather one sided."
"You mock the gods!"
"What of Ares, who blankets his bed with the skin of the men he's killed?"
"All the gods are to be feared and repected..."
"I know more of the gods than you or your priests. You want to know a secret? Something that you won't learn in the temple? The gods envy 'us.' Because we are mortal. Everything is more beautiful, because we are doomed."

At any rate, that's the curse and beauty of mortal life. I think that there is an afterlife, a different level of conciousness. But seperate from this one.
I think we finally totally agree on something.
Although, I would say that you probably have to die before experiencing this plane of existance. It is not feasible to say that such an intangible realm can be experienced by a phenomenological being such as us.
What about you..?
~
Well, experience is intangible.
It is true that you will have to die to experience "higher realms" in total fullness, which are actually the substrate/context for the lower ones. This is merely ego-death, yet for what this entails - "heaven" is nowhere else outside Reality/life. However, in the path of surrender, occasionally, spontaneous revelations may occur.
What about me? As this ego loses its grip, spiritual understandings begin to arise spontaneously and effortlessly. Awareness of experience itself increases, as with happiness and peace, while major life/world-view paradigm shifts take place. Here's just one example of one of "my personal" experiences:
At some stage, my thinking, worrying and pondering slowly diminished. Suddenly, I think, non-verbally - (something like) "Where in all of forever can this experience of life be but with mySelf?" In a few seconds, time stops. But I realize that only my assumption of time itself stopped, as I had spontaneously stopped the mental chatter in my head. There I was, in the Eternal moment, the context of Timelessness. It felt like I had unknowingly been sliding uncontrollably on ice for my entire life, and then suddenly I decided to stop. Finally I was truly living in the Now, not assuming/thinking about past or future. Now is All there Is! I was very present, very close with everything I was aware of. Consequently, all of the world around "me" was shining vividly, as in a powerful lucid dream. I mean "shining" as in self-radiant and beautiful, all was explosive in being just what it was. Not the "2d vivid", it was "3d" ultradepth vividness or something... The leaves of the trees falling effortlessly, birds shooting around... It was bliss. :laughtillhurts:
The timeless, eternal moment also revealed that the presumed "I" was just an inherent assumption of the dualistic ego. In fullness, the real "me", is one with the entirety of all that exists. In this state timelessness, the ego was temporarily blanked out with awe, and "my" body became as perfect and indifferent as the nearby trees. There, a smile appeared on "my" face - and it lasted forever. I watched a guy walk by in the distance, yet he was right with me! It was an epic, inner silence...
Although, in abstract, the experience probably lasted about 15 seconds, its impact has not left me at all.
How can you put a time limit on something that is timeless and eternal..?
~
We just can, Life is timeless, yet it ends for all of us.
Me too.
You shouldn't straw man theist by referring to an inherency of them going agianst science. It's not true.Quote:

Good bye all, I liked all the points I heard, and I say..you are all very smart.
Live good lives.
