Say any prayer to God in the name of Jesus Christ.
THEN GO TO SLEEP. ( YOU FALLING ASLEEP IS THE BIG SECRET! )
God then replies in the form of a dream - THAT NIGHT.
You need to pay attention for the reply God gives you at this time.
Just try.

Is this serious?
Well I don't know if you are, but my opinions on prayer is that it isn't so much this God is up there bending over his throne and waiting to see what we want and then reacts based on our desire.
I think prayer is for our own sake, it makes us realize things and changes our state of mind to be more in tune with what God has already been doing.
To be honest I think that if God really answered prayers there would be far more christians out there. I try my best to keep open minded though, so I'll give it a go and post back here tommorow.
Yeah... what you believe to be god replying to you, is just all in your head. Sorry you can't figure this out on your own but I don't feel like explaining it.
hi God, please fucking go die.
I believe that as well. it is (supposed to be) to increase our awareness and not worry and stress. when we worry and stress, we are distracted, and may not see a solution that is right in front of us. we have the power to change our situations, asking God to do it is just laziness.
Now I know this is going to slap the crazy moron sticker on my forehead but I actually speak in tongues and I believe that it is real.
Not in the sense you see like...in say the borat movie.
I think tongues is something much more personal and self edifying, not something to blab on the street to confuse people. And if people would read the efffing bible they would know that.
Haha, he would probably know you were going to punch him in the face and then he would punch you in the face, only his fists are made of fire and sandpaper so it would hurt.....A LOT
(LMAO)
jassum, what do you mean by speaking in tongues then? because the only thing I know about it is like the stuff in the Borat movie, haha. that movie was pretty fucking funny by the way.
It's prayer, but prayer where you aren't thinking of your own things to say.
From what I read in the bible it is a gift, in the same way prophecy, or the gift of healing would be. It edifies the spirit, it has basically the same effect as regular prayer as far as realigning perspective and clearing your mind.
But the bible clearly says it isn't something to be uttered publicly, and if it every is it is supposed to have a translation or a word of knowledge to go in hand with it.
Instead you have a bunch of people (like in borat) that just ramble it all over the place and look like psychopaths. It is a perversion of what the original intention and meaning behind the gift was. It is a very deeply spiritual act.
I "received" tongues simply by asking in prayer for the gift and it came instantly. Now that I "have it" it just flows out whenever I want it to.
I only understand it as much as I do in the bible.
Now, there are some ridiculous things I have heard about it, such as it is some secret language that satan cant understand, or that you have to speak in tongues to go to heaven, but none of this is biblical, and it especially isn't biblical to babble it publicly in church. I think the whole things is greatly mis-understood.
I do think it is the baptism of fire, but I don't think it is "receiving the Holy Spirit". I don't even think the "Holy Spirit" as an actual entity is even biblical. I think the "Holy Spirit" is something like "Team Spirit". It's this attitude and way of thought when you have close fellowship with God the Father. When that happens you have the "Holy Spirit" about you, or you receive the Holy Spirit in that sense.
The "Holy Spirit" descended onto Christ "like" a dove. I don't think that means the Holy Spirit shape-shifted into a dove and landed on Christ's hair or something lol. I think it is all figurative language.
I think the "Holy Spirit" is God working through you. when you follow God you are Christ-like. the same concept is found in Satanism, when you understand the ultimate truth, you become a god.
I'm not trying to push satanism on you, I just want you to see that at its core it's the same thing. it is very misunderstood, just like christianity is. the people who possess the ultimate truth are clearly in the minority. there are so many people in the world that are suffering, but it's because they choose to. and it's these same people that are responsible for all religious misconceptions!
Hmmmm, no I don't see eye to eye with you, and it isn't because of the satanism thing. I agree with satanists on many issues but disagree with them on some very fundamental issues, just as I do with Christianity.
oh I'm the same exact way, and at heart, I'm neither a Satanist nor a Christian. here is something I thought of that may help you see it, if you don't: a majority of christians lean too much into selflessness, and a majority of satanists lean too much into selfishness. (that is why satanism is widely viewed as bad, because it seems on the surface to be a selfish religion) but a christian who understands the only one truth is the same as a satanist who understands the only one truth, the only difference is the name.
there have been many people who considered themselves "christians" who actually did evil things, and thought they were right in doing so. would you consider them christians? probably not. just the same, there have been many people who have considered themselves to be satanists, and done evil things. would you consider them satanists? you might, but I don't, because I know that at its core, satanism is NOT an evil religion, and a true satanist knows they should never hurt anyone. all of that mess you hear in the media about "satanic sacrifices", blahblahblah, those acts are not commited by true satanists, but people who think they are satanists. you may find it hard to believe, but the satanic bible is has in it passages that describe how to live your life without harming anyone. like these on sex:

As a buddhist (sort of) I see prayer as energy we give out to the world, like a really weak spell. Through prayer, if we mean it, we can communicate our love to the world in spiritual energy.
Lol this sounds like a myspace bulletin...
WITH CHRISTIANITY!!
given the number of people here who practice LD, it should come as no surprise that if you truly believe that you'll get a dream reply and focus on it as you fall asleep, you often will get said dream reply. It's the science of dreams!
Because the bible promotes self imrovement and a personal journey to understanding God?
