So can god. Its called the Bible.

Because of this, I do believe age has something to do with it. The Bible and Qur'an are not as easily traceable. These books are as old as Gilgamesh.
Considering they have actual writings, they're more easily traceable than said Tooth Fairy. Actually, they have been traced back extremely far, further than said tooth fairy.

To greek gods: I don't believe in this because they do not have a single text that describes the belief.
You're kidding right?

Yes, you might consider it foolish, but having something like the Bible or the Qur'an does help my view in the sense of credibility. A collection of ideas, that are mostly not believed anymore, does not hold a lot of value in my opinion. It seems more like mythical literature in this respect.
I'm sure the ancient Greeks thought the same when they all believed in their gods and called the beliefs of their past mythology.

Can you believe that I am asking because I want to learn?
In this section of Dreamviews? Not really, no.

I agree sharing knowledge is good, but not all atheists do this. Some, just like religious communities, cram their beliefs down your throat and devalue your beliefs. I don't get why atheist needs to cram anything down your throat though. Again, unless spiritual, converting one man will not do anything. Thus, it seems rather pointless because it is not like they are fighting to make someone experience some specified afterlife.
Won't do anything? It'll fix our world is what it'll do. Rather than people being controlled and bound by the shackles of organized religion. It'll stop people in organized religions from holding back scientific development, and thus our development as a race. It'll get people to think logically and rationally, and make proper choices based off their own values, their own experiences, not off what some book or "god" tells them they should do.

Also, can people stop calling me a Christian. I do not like to be named apart of anything. i see myself as an agnostic-theist.
You just broke english.

The reason I chose to believe in God, at first, is because it logically made sense.
I lol'd

Pure atheism, no spirituality, gave me nothing.
Totally unrelated. Once again, even pure, militant atheist, doesn't mean one can't be spiritual.
Quote:
Being an agnostic-theist does not mean I can't care about what I chose to believe either.
No, it means you're indecisive. Also, people don't choose to believe in something. I can't just wake up and say "I'm going to believe in god today." But provided reason enough, if one is willing to listen, ones beliefs can change to something that makes more (or less) sense.

Eventually, I realized that this belief made me happy and content.
It made you deluded.
Quote:
It gave meaning as I became closer to God.
No it didn't. It gave you false meaning, and tricked you into thinking you got closer to something that doesn't exist.

You can call my reasons bad, or call me weak, but I stick by it, which has to count for something.
No, actually, it doesn't.

At the same time, I want to learn, not only about my religious commitments, but others. I don't believe in blind faith. So far, I have had no one rock my religious boat though. I am not looking to get it rocked either, but if it does, it does.
*puts rock in boat*
