Opinions are just opinions, don't think anyone on here is trying to make theirs seem superior. My religious views didn't fit into any option other than "Other - please specifcy" so I did. I believe what I believe, I don't need to pick a side or try to categorise it.
@ Xaq:
And what will you do? Ban me? You've been posting off-topic too. -.-
AALSO. The poll is still wrong. It's friggin athEIst, not athIEst. I wonder if believers do that just to piss atheists off.

@ everyone:
I'd really want someone to enlighten me on the difference between an agnostic's beliefs and an atheist's beliefs. I mean, so many people call themselves agnostics, when they're actually atheists.
An atheist does not believe in god. An agnostic does not know whether a god exists or not.
I am some kind of panentheist. I believe that the universe is a representation of god manifested physically.
I'm an Eckist.
Oh man, let's not turn this into a thread about agnosticism. There have been a couple of other threads solely about that.
That said, my beliefs or lack thereof branch of into (of course) much more than that. But as I said, saying "atheist" just makes communication easier. If someone's interested, they ask questions and I'll explain. I think most of everyone has complex and detailed ideas about everything.
On a side note, I find it very charming when people explain their exact viewpoint in real life. It's refreshing. :)
uh, between pantheism and panentheism. :\
+ agnostic?
For all intents and purposes, I'm an atheist.
However, recently I've been drawn to pantheism. It's not that I'm rediscovering belief in a god, but rather I highly value the interconnectedness of all life. Secular pantheism may be a proper title.
You know, I was talking to this guy the other day. There are two ways you can see religion: as the truth or as (part of) a culture. I know many atheists that take lots of time to learn about religions just because they find them beautiful. It doesn't imply that they believe in them, though.
So far christians make up 6 % of R/S.. The only thing that suprised me was the huge ammount of 'Other'
Well, there's only four faiths and two lack of faiths listed as options to choose, which leave a lot of other beliefs out. However, I don't think there are enough maximum options on the polls here to encompass even a twentieth of the belief systems of the world.
Exactly. But, have you ever heard of statistical representation? Mainstream religions should appear more in statistics than their less-known counterparts. Or do you seriously believe most people get to a point in their life and choose the faith they will follow randomly? Nah, they keep the belief they were taught, which makes the statistics remain approximately the same over time.
Yes, it doesn't necessitate such. However, that doesn't mean it isn't what happens. I don't see any agnostic/undecided person (which I think are much more reasonable than religious zealots) choosing a mainstream religion to follow. I think you know why. Don't make me number the problems of mainstream religion yet once again.
And I think you understand the charm of having an unique religion. Don't pretend there isn't any. That is what I criticize here - people choosing things because they want to have a cool opinion, and not because the opinion is true/important to them.
@ Kromoh: Maybe, maybe not. Some people probably do that, but it doesn't seem fair to assume that everyone who has a unique religion only chose it because they want to be different.
I'm agnostic, by the way.
Wait wait wait...you guys have eradicated the majority of the Christians here? I LOVE YOU!
How can you be so sure that people claim opinions for the sake of uniqueness and not for the sake of explaining their genuine beliefs? Perhaps you can point out some examples in the thread and explain what gives them away to you.
Also, why?Quote:
Pick a side already.
Just wanting to see things the way you are seeing them. Mayhap that way I'll better understand your point of view here.
