Introduction:

First off, my name is Lunataur. Originally I was known as LunaLovegood. I have been here for 2 years and October 9th will be my 3rd year here :) Well enough about me, I will cut to the chase about Project Afresh.

Project:Afresh

First off, myself and my veteran DV colleagues have talked about Dreaming within a Dream. If you could WILD and make yourself WILD in the LD and keep "Afreshing" the process, then you possibly achieve Enlightenment or "Inception".

Why should I join this project?

First... you can become better at WILDing and learned how to "Enlighten" yourself or learn that"Inception" is either possible or a fallacy.

WHAT IS THE CATCH?

No catch.. this is just an experiment

I WILDed in a non-lucid about a week ago. I didn't finish, this scientist came and interrupted me and said it was time to do the tests now. But I made it to the in between phase, hallucinating like mad.

I've always been kinda skeptical about the whole dream inside a dream thing. I don't see how it's different from just having a dream and then going to a different setting, but I'd be interested to see what kind of results you get.

So the idea is basicly to enter a dream once you entered one. If this is wat you are aiming for i am willing to participate.

As I told you, my personality did not change after entering into five layers of dreams like on my previous post here... however, I am not feeling as grounded in the physical plane as it is supposed to be. Not due this task, but overall and due switching between planes (physical, dream and astral)

I've never wilded before, I don't really have time for that with finals and all, and I usually just figure out i'm dreaming through milds, so could I mild and then wild within the dream? If so, then I'm in!

Nope. You must WILD. A MILD is not a trance induction (mind awake, body asleep) but WILD is. So you need to have your Dream Body fall asleep but your Mind still awake... not waking up in the process... and entering a dream within a dream... then repeat five more times (five layers) somehow like I did (read above)

well i cant wild for dick so yea

Maybe if I can i'll try it with MILD just for fun but I doubt I could pull it off without losing lucidity at one point unless it was a REALLY vivid dream

I have some experience in dream layers, if I do say so myself. The deepest I ever got is 4 layers.

I had 3 dream layers the other day. It was crazy. Trying to WILD but fell asleep into a non-lucid dream and decided to try an OBE inside it. Walked out of body and performed the OBE into layer #2. Inside my OBE I realized I was at layer #2 and decided to perform another WILD into layer #3 - it was crazy vivid/bright. Woke up from the WILD back into layer #2 OBE with full recall and amazement at layer #3. Returned to my original non-lucid dream, at the exact same position as I started in, in absolute amazement and thinking I'd woken up for real. Then woke up for real and the amazement paled a little... Took me some time to get over it, and I did feel a little crazy for a while whilst I reacquainted myself with waking reality :D

Oh ha ha. Come on, are you for real? Inception is a movie, its a fantasy written by the creative minds of professional writers. Just because its made it big in the box office doesn't make it a plausible theory that needs to be tested.

There is no limbo or level of dream layers if that is what you are getting at. This research project is a great way to waste time. You can fall asleep in a dream, be in a different location, then "wake up" in the dream in the same place... it might seem like a new level of the dream, but its just an illusion.

Here is some logic. If we fall asleep, then go to sleep in the dream, that means you believe when we wake up we go from the second layer back to the first, right? So if I don't fall asleep while in the dream but have a false awakening, does that mean I end up in a pre-dream layer? OH NOES -1 IN THE DREAM WORLD.

No. Common sense needs to be applied here, don't base your beliefs off Hollywood movies please.

I did not like Inception It is an OK movie... but it breaks so many laws of the Dream Plane... not an epic movie at all. I just did this task to prove myself and help Luna... that's all lol

But let me get this out there because soo many people get this wrong
If you actually payed attention to The Movie Inception you'd know that:

Inception: Planting An Idea In Someone Elses Mind Through Their Dreams.
Extraction: Stealing Information from someones Mind Through Dreams
So when you say finding out if Inception is real I think you meant Finding out if multiple dream layers within dreams were real.
And as Loaf explained this is most likely false.

I dunno, can we term them layers IF we wake up to our earlier surroundings?
Example:
I am in a bus. I WILD, now I am in a mall.
I die, (or whatever, sleep etc) and I wake up in the same bus?
So isn't that layers?

No, your mind is just re-generating the dream world to what it was before, which isn't hard when you think people can make up, DEILD, then be back in the same dream. No doubt the "layer" will have changed significantly, whether you notice it or not; again, because its not a layer, its just the re-generated dream world.

The truth is nobody would even be talking about dream layers being real if it wasn't for Inception being released. Stop pretending its something more than fiction.

There definitely was talk about dream layers before, but not as frequent as after Inception. Heck, even many of the new members joined because of Inception.

Edit, still doesn't prove anything, though. Loaf, have you had personal experience with layers/recreated dreamscapes?

The only dream layering I ever heard of was regarding the astral realm, which is way beyond common dream discussion. If the concept of dream layers was talked about here before, it can't have been a very strong argument if its had to borrow fictional references from Inception.

True, it wasn't exactly an argument, more of a fantasy. However, we still have much to discover, and I'm certainly open to possibilities and experimenting.

Be open to possibilities, just don't aid in making them up. :3
