The 90 Days WILD Project Phase 2

Welcome to the second phase of the 90 Days WILD Project program for improving your WILD technique!

For those who haven't taken part in the first phase or who haven't even heard of this project, all you have to do is accept the challenge that you will dedicate ninety days - that's three months - of your time to improving your WILDing.

The second phase of the project is intended for Phase 1 veterans to continue to work on their WILD technique if they weren't satisfied with their results, but on a self-driven schedule - the days that count toward your 90 days of WILD practice are those that you make attempts on, meaning that participants won't be penalized for taking time away from the project for whatever reason, as it was with the rigid 90-day requirement for the first phase. Because this phase is aimed at Phase 1 veterans, you are required to complete Phase 1, or PM an appeal for early entry into Phase 2.

Here's the run-down of what's going on with Phase 2:

• The 90 Days WILD Project has been expanded into two Phases: 1) challenge yourself to dedicate 90 days of your time to practicing WILDs, and 2) work on and log your progress with practicing WILD techniques, logging only on the days you attempt to WILD.
• Phase 2 is an extension to the 90 Days WILD Project begun by edge0125, and is meant for Phase 1 veterans that didn't improve their WILD technique enough to be satisfied with their results of the first phase, but holds the ultimate goal of helping everyone learn to WILD, so we won't be so strict on you if you want to bypass Phase 1.
• If you qualify to enter the second phase of the project, all you have to do is post that you'd like to join up, and keep a log of your progress in this topic, as done in the first phase topic.
• To clarify about the program: you may remove yourself from involvement with the project at any time you wish, and may resume at any time you wish. Similarly, you may choose to restart your counter at any point in either phase, though this is most applicable to the first phase. If you choose to remove yourself and resume progress in the first phase, it would be in your best interest to restart your counter, as the intention of the first phase is to push you to work on WILDs for three months to improve your abilities with WILD techniques.
• See the bottom of this post for information on appealing for early entry into Phase 2.

**ATTN: Those wondering why one must complete the first phase to advance to the second phase, please read this post from Phase 1, which explains the purpose of the order of the phases and the reason for the necessary prerequisite.

For those not understanding it clearly, think of the first phase as proving to yourself that you can commit to a 90 day self-driven project, since the first one is deadline-driven. If you can do Phase 1, you can be very sure you're capabable of doing Phase 2. :)

I'm done phase 1, and I'm not too happy about my last 5 days, in 3 of them I slept through my alarm so I didn't even get to take a shot at WILD, but this won't "waste" my days in phase 2 because they wouldn't count as days for the project :)
I'll start phase 2 pretty soon, maybe less than a week :D

I'll be joining in on phase 2 soon. I think my last exam day is May 5, so i'll probably start around then. Hope more people join in on phase 2. :D

I've been extremely lazy!
But I'm gonna try using CAT-WILD (started last night) it is a LOT like DEILD, but I was wondering if it would still count for the project?
If so, I guess today was day 1 for me, I didn't succeed at CAT-WILD, however I had 2 DEILDs (the first one might have been a WILD, but for now I will count it as a DEILD)

I know what you mean. Yes, it requires a stable schedule but I think that's due to the 1.5hr part because you are supposed to get a rem rebound along with changing your brain chemistry by waking up earlier than your schedule. Personally, I'll admit that at first it was hard to think about sleeping at 11, since, I've slept at 12, 12:30 and in many cases when I had a chance, at 2, etc.... in the morning, however, what it comes down to is that you have to think of the outcome. The way I look at it is, it's much better to sleep at 10 or 11, wake up at 6 or 7 and get a couple of LDs a week than to sleep really late and have a messed up schedule. Also, the 1.5hr waking up part is no doubt a difficult one. I've been waking up 1.5hr for the last 3 days and today I haven't had a nap yet and it's killing me literally and I also had work this morning. Anyways, personally am excited to see the results. Worst case scenario, I get no LDs at all for whatever reason(maybe couldn't recall them, etc....). Best case scenario, it works like a charm and I find out that this method is the method that works better than WILDs and DILDs, so, I move my schedule to 10-6 in June, so, that I have 8hr of sleep to avoid being tired when I wake up and I make sure to maintain the schedule :) Better to experiment and get the results than to think about what could have been :shadewink:

I might give it a shot in summer, but for now I can't go to bed earlier because of school (homework and stuff),
and can't wake up earlier because I really need my sleep (I'm doing a lot of exercise lately, training for an upcoming taekwondo tournament)
but I hope it works for you :)!.

I understand the whole REM-rebound thing, because at the same time I found out about lucid dreaming, I found out an alternate way to refresh your sleep, than normal sleep. It consists of taking 6 naps a day, for half an hour each, every 4 hours. The first 2 weeks you don't get any REM, AT ALL, according to the article I read, after 2 weeks ,your brain says "Fuck it, we'll do it your way" and goes directly into REM as soon as you start napping, for the whole nap. This means you get 30 minutes of REM, 6 times a day, do the math and that's 3 hours of REM, daily, compared to the average 1.5-2 hours of REM you normally get.

Yes, very good. Of course, you need some dream recall to remember all of them, but, if I am able to have at least one a week, then I would think it's worked, since, I haven't been doing much RCing IRL and not much WILDing either :P I understand where you're going, school is more important. Once summer hits, then I would have went through the rest of the research and would have determined how well it works for me at least which would help you with your choice. That sleep schedule is called uberman but it's pretty hard to get used to it. Everyman is also a similar one(another polyphasic sleep) but easier to get used to and pursue :) Finally, interesting article, thanks. I've heard of a couple of those but that ping pong one was pretty interesting :P

I should be dropping in here as soon as I close up my details on Phase 1 (yes, it's been a long time since I finished Phase 1, but I never posted my results from my last week, shame on me), and once I get things back in order with my DJ and my LDing practice. Everything is going well, currently pursuing CAT(see link in sig for more details), however, I decided that if I feel like I can WILD a certain night before bed, I would go for it :)

I was going to start phase 2 about a week ago, but i don't think i was quite ready. My dream recall has really gone down. I'm going to work on my recall for about a week, and then jump into phase 2. If my recall comes back all of a sudden, i won't wait a week, but first things first. What's the point in having awesome dreams if you can't remember them!

I've been wanting to start for a long time, but I've been lazy lately.
Funny thing happened yesterday:
I was in a dream, talking to my DC girlfriend. We decided to try to WILD and share a dream. I lied down, closed my eyes (So far all this is non lucid btw). SP hit immediately, I stood up in a new place, did a reality check, and noticed I was dreaming. My girlfriend was there with me. "Are we dream sharing" she asked. "Shared dreaming, you mean?" I said, giggling. "What ever, you know what i meant, WE ARE!" I wake up in my previous dream, look at her, and she wakes up too, we then talked about the shared dream we just had, and after a while woke up. So I guess that counts as being lucid (at least during the part where I thought I had WILDed) but it's a DILD

Well, why not start day one with a success :D

I went to bed at 11:30. I set up my CAN WILD alarm so that the last (fourth) beep went off at 4:30. I didn't wake up at any of the four CAN WILD alarms. However I did set my cellphone alarm to wake me up at 5:00. I woke up at 5:00, then instead of getting out of bed I played a game on my ipod for 15 minutes, then listened to music for another 15 minutes while on facebook (still on my ipod touch), and at 5:30 decided to go to sleep. Just like 4 of my other WILD's, by just intending to go to sleep, Sleep Paralysis set in, and I had a pretty long WILD, for about 10-15 minutes, which then ended but I chained it with a DEILD to another 10-15 minutes long lucid dream :).

Great job AndresLD! That's a great way to start the next phase. I'm still working on the dream recall before i start phase 2. If i can get another ld my dream recall should go back to normal. Anyway, good luck everybody on phase 2!

I think that's the main reason my CAT method isn't working very well. Bad dream recall and my schedule has changed the last couple of days :P

Day 2:
I woke up at 5:00, stayed up until 5:30, then went to sleep, took me about 40 minutes to fall asleep, no sleep paralysis this time, no WILD success

I'm going to start phase 2 tonight, if i can get a good attempt in. Oh yeah, and thanks AndresLD. I had a DEILD a few days ago and it was because i read the post about your DEILD. I was in an ld and it was about to end, so i thought, AndresLD got a DEILD; maybe i should try it too. It worked! Thanks!:D

I got a DILD in an afternoon nap at about 5:30 PM, so i'm freshly motivated for a WILD success tonight. I'm going to try to make it a VILD if possible.

Not many people moving on to phase 2. :D I've been meaning to start phase 2, but i guess you could say i've been overly picky on the nights i was planning to start and maybe a little lazy too. I was planning on starting last night, but not long before bed, i found out that i would have to get up at 6am so no WILD attempt. I barely got 5 hours last night. Anyway...I'll probably have to get up early in the morning again, but i don't think it will be early enough to screw up an attempt. I'm going to set an alarm tonight and give it a go. :D

I need to get back to LDing :S.
I've been pretty busy lately, I haven't written on my journal, haven't tried WILD :(

On the bright side, it seems like you got a good taste for LDs. I've only had a couple and they weren't the most vivid :P I'll be joining you guys soon, I only have 4 days left in phase 1, then I plan to give WILD my all in phase 2 :P

Thanks, it was a bit expected, since, I've been having dream dreams :lol: You could easily get back on tracks. RL is more important because that would affect your ability to LD(stress, work, school, etc....). Squaddle, RL comes first, then LDing. True, he could still RC during the day, but, if he believes that it's inhibiting his study habits, it's better to stop it and continue after his exams are over. Then he can give them his undivided attention. Wonder where Clyde and Dark_grimmjow are? :P

Well, this morning was day 3 for me :).

Day 3: no success, I woke up fed my fishies (on my ipod), played some Light Bike, got out of bed, went to the washroom, had a sip of water. Went back to bed and fell asleep, oh well no lucky SP for me this time.

Also, I will be starting a "90 Days RC Project" soon, basically reality checking every 15 or 30 minutes for 90 days and see what the results are :). A long time ago I wanted to do this but again, school kinda held me back. But now I have a lot of time in my hands to do this :D

I'm still here. :D I've let myself get too distracted. I've actually tried WILDing several nights, but i haven't had an attempt worth counting as day 1. I've been unusually tired at night after waking up for a WILD attempt. Usually i have a lot of trouble getting back to sleep, but now when i try to WILD, i'm out before i realize what happened. Maybe i can use the sleepiness to my advantage, if i can just keep my focus and not forget that i'm trying to WILD during an attempt. I've also been staying up way to late, which has been hurting my attempts. Work and a few other things have been stressing me out a little, but can't let that get in the way anymore. Get over it dark_grimmjow *slaps self in the face*. Ok, i definitely plan to attempt WILD tonight, but i was stupid and drank a full throttle energy drink (the blue agave flavor, they taste so good that i couldn't resist). Hopefully the energy drink won't keep me too awake. Good luck on the WILDing everybody. Maybe i'll report in with a success tomorrow; i sure hope so. :D

I haven't started yet, since, I keep on putting the alarm off and going back to bed. I think that 90 days RC one would work perfectly if you can get yourself to RC every 20min or so, however, don't use a timer if possible, because, you would be dependent on a timer to RC and if it doesn't show up in your dream, it means no RCing :P

I'm in a similar position as well. Ever since I got my last lucid, I started to slack off with my RCs. I was able to figure out some dreamsigns but they are pretty rare IRL so I can't RC to them :P I'll be trying to WILD tonight again. Hope you guys both jump in, Clyde too of course :)

I've been setting 4 different alarms to WILD the past 8 days, haven't woken up a single time. I apparently turn off my alarms without waking up, last night I even put one of my alarms in my desk, which would be really hard to reach without being fully awake, however this morning I woke up at 10 in the morning, and found the alarm on my bed beside my pillow... what the f$%k

@BigFan: I started with an alarm, RCing every 15 minutes, starting today I've been doing it without the alarm. Tomorrow I think I will start the official 90 Days RC Project :D

lol, well, I remember waking up to mine and thinking that I need to WILD. I turned to my side and then fell back asleep instead of trying to stay conscious. My problem is that I haven't WILD'd yet and the closest attempt occurred when I awoke from a dream due to fear, so, I haven't entered SP from an awake state which is disappointing :P

Update to Phase 2
I'm going to start allowing appeals for exemptions to the restrictions to be heard through PM. Details will be included in the first post after editing. :)

Hello everyone! I'm not really much for introductions, so I'll try to make this brief. XD

I've been WILDing on a "when I can" schedule for around two years now. However, it's only been within the last year that I've started to come into my own concerning the art. Despite this, I feel I've got a ways to go before I'm good enough to satisfy my personal standards. I look forward to the next 90 days of attempts, and am eager to share my experiences with all of you!

So, I guess I'll get straight down to business!

Day 1: WBTB - Failure

Notes: After getting around 6 hours of sleep, and waking up to a full bladder, I figured I'd make an attempt today. Did my usual WBTB routine, and within a minute, was back in bed ready for sleep! Everything was going well until I started hearing weird noises coming from outside. It turns out some asshole with a trumpet or something was making odd sounds for gods know what reason. I confirmed it wasn't any kind of hallucination because it was still happening as I was setting up my speakers to drown it out. Unfortunately, as soon as I finished setting up, it stopped, and I was too pissed off to fall back asleep.

Welcome to the team. Nice to have someone who has a lot of experience with WILDs and you could possibly revive this thread again since everyone is busy ATM :D

Day 1:
Woke up at 5:50am, got off and then back into bed. I tried to WILD and I think I got to some HI because I was seeing some imagery but was still hearing some outside noise which was interesting since the windows were closed. Anyways, this happened three times with me waking up each time and believing that the noise was from outside and then I passed out :P

Welcome to the team Mzzkc! It's good to hear that someone experienced joined. I gotta say your LD records are impressive, 13 LD's in one day? That's SICK.
I have to admit I've been lazy about WILDing lately, hopefully you will motivate us to keep trying :P.

Day 4:
Woke up at 5:00 in the morning, straight from a dream. Went to the washroom, had a sip of water, went on my ipod for about 5 minutes and went back to sleep. I started to focus on my body, how it felt against my bed and started relaxing my body, focusing on my feet, moving up to my head, however I only made it to my stomach when I fell asleep.

Day 5:
Went to bed at 1:00 in the morning, after I finished watching Vanilla Sky (such a good movie, you should watch it). Woke up at 5:00 AM, went to the washroom, had a sip of water, then spent about 5 minutes on my ipod in bed. At 5:10 I relaxed my body, closed my eyes and started counting my breaths. At about 70 I fell asleep.

The good news: I have had 3 attempts, all in a row (one day after the other one).
The bad news: I haven't been successful
Also from now on I will have kind of a sketch for every day report, as this one:

Day 6:
Went to bed at: 12:15
Set alarm at: 5:00 AM
After I woke up to alarm I: Went on my Ipod for 5 minutes, went to the washroom, had a sip of water, went back to bed.0
To WILD I tried: looking and concentrating on the fuzzy patterns of dots I see when I close my eyes
I was: unsuccessful

I tried to get an attempt to count as day 1 last night, but i hit a snag. I set an alarm to wake me up for the attempt, but i woke up a little before the alarm went off. I had a really bad toothache. I tried falling asleep, but i couldn't. So i had to take some advil, and didn't fall asleep for about 45 min. (took too long for the advil to kick in). Anyway, i'm going to try again to night so maybe i can get day 1 under my belt. Hopefully, my tooth want bother me.

It's good to see that you're consistently working on the project Andres. It helps motivate me to really start trying. Good luck everybody on your next WILD attempt. :D

Was going to attempt a WILD today during a nap, but I had already been sleeping for over 12 hours and achieved 3 lucids throughout the night, so I felt it was unnecessary.

Next planned attempt is on Thursday, as I do not have work that day.

No WILDing for me last night, since, I didn't get any sleep(overnight shift :P).

Mzzkc, sorry for asking, since it's a little off topic, but how long have you been into lucid dreaming?

After I woke up to alarm I: Went on my Ipod for 5 minutes, went to the washroom, had a sip of water, went back to bed.
To WILD I tried: relaxing my body and counting my breaths. After 120 breaths I decided to go back to sleep (it was about 5:30 AM)
I was: unsuccessful

I'll probably never call myself a natural, for reasons that are way too off topic for this thread. =P

The actual WILD method I use is something I developed myself after giving up on trying to modify what others had done to fit my personal needs. I have a link to the core idea behind this method in my sig if you want to check it out. If you do, I think you'll find it really hits home for you, considering how you've achieved your WILDs so far.

What a coincidence! 5 of my 7 WILDs have been just like the one you explained in your WILD Count link. I achieved them by mistake, after failing to WILD I would try to go to sleep, and suddenly a huge wave of SP would hit me, then I would be in my dream bed and the dream would start :)! I sometimes refer to it as "Accidental WILD Technique" I'm actually impressed it didn't happen on my Day 7

Wasn't able to WILD last night since I slept like a brick :lol: Will try again tonight :) Curious, do you guys use RCs to try and become lucid? I've been RCing a lot recently but it seems that none have been transferring into my dreams and I'm about to give up on that. I plan to start concentrating on WILDing along with just raising daily awareness through observing the real world and trying to notice any "flaws" which would likely help me gain lucidity due to the awareness factor :D

Meh, RCs for me are really just a way of double checking. Awareness is really what gets me lucid.

Day 2: 3 Successes - 2 WILDs - 1 DEILD

Notes: On the first one I found myself thinking about how I was going to do it too much, but once I settled down and got myself in the sleeping mindset things started to look up. I had some very odd hallucinations of my mother jumping around my room and saying things to me in hushed whispers, but I managed to ignore it all. Of course, then I screwed up my usual awareness 'exercise' and took too much notice of my thought patterns and was then forced to emulate a seemingly random stream of consciousness until I felt the transition. Shortly after the WILD I had an FA in a DILD followed by a failed DEILD attempt, but I still managed to turn it into a DILD.

I woke up, didn't bother trying again, but still managed a DILD out of the blue, after which I woke up and decided to go for another WILD. This one was much smoother, and the transition occurred very quickly with minimal amounts of distracting SP or HH. Unfortunately, it turned into a wannabe nightmare and I decided it would be better to wake up and try again since I didn't have a lot of control over anything, really. Came out of that one into a successful DEILD wherein I used visualization to form the dream as I saw fit. It was actually really cool. No more attempts after that, but I did have another DILD to cap off the night.

It doesn't seem that they work for me either, since, 80% of my LDs have been awareness and possibly one(semi-lucid) was due to RCing, so, I plan to stop RCing since there is no purpose to it. Congrats on the LD, sounded like a nice mixture of different techniques to get the LD :)
I tried WILDing the last two nights, I would wake up, stay in bed and then pass out. I did manage to hear some sound and that woke me up in one of my attempts but that was the closest I got. I think having a second alarm go off an hour after you wake up to try and WILD is a good idea so that you could still benefit even if you fail at your attempt :)

Well, talking about RC's, for me they are mainly for making double sure it's a dream before jumping out the window or running into a wall... But right now I'm using an alarm during the day, which does off every 10 minutes and I don't have to turn it off. Every time it goes off I do a RC, at night I set it to go every 25 minutes (not from the moment I go to bed, but about 3 hours into my sleep), hoping that I will hear the alarm in my dream, making me do a RC. I haven't had success yet, after 2 days, however my recall is EXTREMELY off right now. Last night I got about 7 hours of sleep, didn't recall a single dream.

Now back to the project, I didn't give it a try last morning, but I'm planning to do so tomorrow morning :)

Managed to pull off 4 WILDs today. I didn't manage 7 total lucids like last time, but here's the run down.

Day 3: Success

Number of Successes: 4
Notes: My first attempt during an afternoon nap was a resounding failure. I lost consciousness, which is unfortunately prone to happening with my method at times. I had gotten 6 hours of sleep the night before.

My second attempt occurred after waking and adjusting to a more comfortable position. I found success employing my usual method, using the pain from my shoulder as an anchor (I was laying on it weird during my first attempt). After that LD, I performed a DEILD upon waking, still using the same method, and completed both ToTMs.

Waking up from the DEILD, I moved around a bit, thought about stopping, but ultimately decided to go for broke. Another successful WILD attempt was my reward, and I topped it all off with a DEILD for good measure.

I'm in a similar position. I find it pretty difficult nowadays to get even a single dream recorded, let alone 2 or even 3 which is the most I've ever recorded. Still, surprised that people on here are able to remember up to 8, etc.... Having said that, most of those 8 are fragments, so, it's not 8 large dreams all the time. Anyways, I didn't have much luck with WILDing last night either. The alarm rang several times and I could hear it but not put it off. Eventually, I really woke up and put it off, so, it's possible that I was semi-asleep.

:lol: Nice work. I haven't managed to pull out an LD since my last one on June 7th or something along those lines, so, I'm hoping that soon I'll be getting another one :)

Didn't have much success myself, didn't have an alarm to set so I had to pass, but, I'll be trying again tonight :)

About time i got day 1 in here.

Day 1:

I didn't attempt at night, but i did attempt a WILD for a nap. I didn't get too far. I started to get mild sp, but then my dog started barking like crazy and screwed everything up. I guess trying during the day has its potential interruptions. Maybe i'll have better luck tonight.

Congrats everybody on all of the successes! Especially you, Mzzkc, with your couple thousand WILD's a night. :D Hope i'm able to become that proficient at WILDing.

I haven't been able to WILD the last couple of nights. It's just too humid where I live and I keep putting the alarm off :P

Not much luck last night, I slept only 6hr and likely put off the alarm. Seems lately I've been sleeping like a brick :lol: Maybe tonight will be the night, since, I haven't WILD'd in a LONG time :P

Again, another unexpected success :)
I'm staying at a hotel in Orlando, due to a important martial arts tournament, staying in the same room with my dad.
Anyways this morning I woke up at 5:45 in the morning, and had trouble going back to sleep because of the big day ahead of me, and also my dad's snoring. At after hour and a half of trying to go back to sleep (7:15 approx.) I started falling asleep again, when suddenly I get a HUGE wave of sleep paralysis. I tried plugging my nose to see if it was a FA, but was unable to move my arm. I tried to create a dream scenario, but had trouble doing so. Then, somehow I had the idea of "sinking into my bed", and it happened,, I just fell straight through my bed into a water well, I plugged my nose, and I was dreaming :). The dream wasn't too clear, but I was able to find my Inner Sanctuary (which to no surprise is the Zelda Castle from Ocarina of Time). It was a nice LD :).

Day 9:Went to bed at: 12:30
Set alarm at: Didn't set any alarms
After I woke up to alarm I: no alarm
To WILD I tried: making myself fall through my bed, after SP set in.
I was: successful

Congrats on the LD. While I agree with the idea of just relaxing and going to sleep, I wonder how one is supposed to maintain awareness so that they can enter a dream lucid already? I mean the idea of counting was to maintain awareness, likewise using breathing, other sounds in your room, etc.... but I find that those can be annoying and prevent me from sleeping if I'm not tired enough which goes back to the idea of maintaining awareness during the transition :P

There's a few good ways to do it: anchors, setting a 'reminder', straight-up willpower. and emulating thought patterns that occur when falling asleep are the ones I've found most effective.

Anchors are pretty straightforward and should be well known enough that I don't need to explain them here. Correct me if I'm wrong, of course.

The 'reminder' is something I developed awhile back when first experimenting with the idea. Essentially, you use prospective memory to set a 'sentinel of intent,' as I like to call it, to jolt you into consciousness the moment you feel the usual transition.

Using willpower simply involves going to sleep while forcing yourself to stay aware throughout the transition. For it work properly, you have to stop controlling the direction of your thoughts, while still keeping a close eye on your mental state. It's not the easiest thing in the world, and definitely not my method of choice. I usually only use it when I'm exhausted, but I still have my mental faculties performing well. Actually, my last two failures were accomplished using this one.

The thought pattern emulation actually evolved from my experiments with the willpower method. This time, you take full control of your thoughts, but direct them in such a way that each thought leads to a seemingly random associated thought, much like what happens when falling asleep. It takes some practice to get down, but I really like this one. The thought chains can be quite interesting at times.

Thanks for this, it's very well written and has some interesting ideas. In my case, if I use an anchor such as the wind outside the window, I will eventually lose focus because of getting tired. If I don't lose focus, I just can't get to sleep before I'm focusing too much on the anchor which really gets to me since I do need my sleep and don't want to be in bed for 1hr+. I have thought about trying reminders and actually usually repeat the "I will become lucid in my dreams" phrase before falling asleep, but, I haven't had much luck with it.
I have also tried willpower before. My only somewhat success with WILDing came when I woke up really early one day and wasn't going to work in a couple of hours, basically, it was my last day of my phase 2 in my CAT attempts which involved waking up 1.5hr before normal time and doing RCs throughout that time. After those 90min were done, I laid down on the sofa and started to slowly fall asleep. I didn't want to fall and was somewhat worried about missing work since I didn't have an alarm set. I ended up dreaming about bouncing around and I think I was somewhat conscious in my dream because I was thinking about the fact that I will see the earth from space after this next bounce. I started to get scared and snapped out of it only to awake with my eyes closed and all these high and annoying noises with the color orange, etc.... I thought that I was probably WILDing and decided to keep my eyes closed even though I opened them very slightly as soon as I exited the dream and continued with it. Eventually, the intensity was too much and got me too worried so I opened my eyes to snap out of it. Finally, I haven't been able to wake up to WILD for a long time now. When I first decided to start WILDing, I was able to easily wake up on my alarm, however, I find that I just can't anymore, so, I'm starting to look for other ways to wake up to WILD. For example, I tried using an alarm to wake me up 5.5hr into my sleep and woke up this morning wonder how I put it off. Usually, I can recall moving from my bed to do so, but, it was a complete blankout last night. It makes me wonder if sleeping after 12 is why this is happening, since, in my previous attempts, it seems that if I asleep around 11, I can usually wake up at around 5 or so easily. Guess will have to find out tonight :P

I tried WILDing the last two nights. I wasn't successful the first night. As for last night, well, my experience is written below:
I awoke after ~5.5hr of sleep. I decided to WILD and this time I wanted to really try and not just sleep away like what's been happening the last while. I slept on my back and just tried to relax and get back to sleep. I started using the counting as an anchor and tried to make it somewhat passive, so, that it's not going to keep me awake. I was somewhat success since it seemed like the counting was in the background. After a good amount of time, I started getting numb but could still move, since, I moved my finger a couple of times throughout. I also twitched a couple of times. Once numb, I decided to try and play a song in my head so that I can still be awake listening to the song but fall asleep at the same time since the song was playing on it's own. Again, I was successful on the passive part, but, still no results. It also seemed that I was up for a good bit by now, so, I decided to move to my side and go to sleep. I've always heard stories of SP hitting when someone changed position, so, I thought why not? No luck again and then finally moved onto my stomach which has become my normal sleeping position and eventually blanked out. I ended up becoming lucid in a dream, not sure how, but, I just became aware of it as far as I recall, it might have even been an FA since I started in my room but I can't really decide if that's the case. Anyways, I am satisfied to have had another LD after such a long time of having none and I plan to try and WILD using a similar method to the one above to try and achieve a WILD. Once I have one, I can probably get many more using the knowledge I would have gained :) The full dream will be in my journal very shortly :D

After I woke up to alarm I: no alarm, just talked to my gf, and after this I went to sleep, hoping I would get that lucky sudden SP wave I seem to get when I try to sleep after being awake for more than half an hour.
To WILD I tried: Holding still after waking up from the DILD I had. I felt like my body rolled out of bed and kept rolling, suddenly I was back in the dream.

I failed. But i'm beginning to figure out why. One thing is that i'm too picky about which days i post. Another is that i'm losing focus too easily during the WILD attempt. I seem to be forgetting what i'm doing during the attempt and then falling asleep. I need to focus more on the task at hand. I would really like to be able to WILD tonight and do the advanced TOTM (make at least 2 clones of myself), that's the plan anyway. :)

I'm in a similar boat. With the previous project, I was attempting every night although I wasn't getting up and falling back asleep the last while, but, nowadays I don't have that motivation to try and wake up. I was able to get up today to try and WILD. Here is what I got:
I did my usual procedure of just laying still while observing my breathing, so, pretty much just meditating. I got numb and got some sensations but before I could proceed any further, my second alarm went off and shocked me out of it. I moved to my side and eventually fell asleep without an LD. I found that all my LDs except the first one came from a WBTB and thinking about lucidity right before falling asleep, so, I think just making an effort to wake up and WILD can lead to one, however, it seems that you have to really work at it to instill the idea of LDing before falling back asleep, otherwise, no LDs :P
hmm, this thread seems to be dying slowly. Let's keeps the attempts going guys :)

Day 3:

I failed again. The same result happened again. I lost focus and fell asleep unaware. I think that i'm not staying awake long enough after waking up to WILD. I'm still too sleepy to stay aware. So i'm going to try to WBTB with my WILD attempt.

Yes, it has to, then we can just LD at will and keeping tracking would be pointless :D Unfortunately, I couldn't WILD last night due to work and can't tonight due to an overnight shift, however, I plan to use my willpower to try and stay awake when I get to bed, since, I'll be exhausted and should get to SP faster :)

Day 4:
Nooo! I failed again. Same as last time. I don't think i stayed up long enough for the WBTB. The only thing is that i don't want to have to rely on a WBTB to WILD. I'm sure that i wouldn't be able to WBTB every night, because i would lose sleep and my body would get too used to getting up for WBTB, which could cause sleeping problems. I guess there's no problem with the occasional
WBTB so long as i don't do it too often.

I really want to get to the point where i can just wake up in the middle of the night naturally, get up to go to the bathroom if i have to or maybe drink some water if i'm thirsty, and then just start WILD'ing. Maybe even do more than one WILD a night. Making WILD the ld whenever the heck you want to technique. That's where i'm hoping to get...someday. :D

I haven't had a chance with work and everything else lately. XP

Last night's not even worth counting as an attempt. I was going to try 2 attempts. I set 2 alarms on my ipod. It's supposed to be an alarm that goes off for ten seconds and then stops on its own. But something happened with the alarm. Either i cut the alarm off or something caused the app to close. I doubt i would have cut the app off because it would only last for 10 sec. anyway. It's not the first time i've had alarm app troubles. That nick newport alarm app for pc has malfunctioned multiple times on my laptop. I would set a time for an alarm and then start the timer, and somehow the timer would just stop before it even gets to the alarm time. It just looks like i can't rely on any self-shutoff alarms that i have; I'll just have to rely on my own internal clock to wake me up during the night, which is what i was going to be working towards anyway. I guess this also means i missed July's TOTM. Guess i'll just have to change my plan for tonight's attempt.

Day 11:
Woke up at about 5:00, then went on my ipod for 10-15 minutes and fell asleep.

Day 12:
I was having a DILD, then I started to wake up and held still. I opened my eyes for a fraction of seconds and was in my bed, I closed my eyes and I felt SP set in and I 'rolled' back into the dream. Success :D

Ok, I'm starting to feel like I'm cheating. About 4 of my successes were not on purpose. Last night I WILDed, accidentally.

Day 13:
I woke up from a dream at about 7:00 am, then rolled to my side. In the previous dream I was thinking about working the next day. So, I tried to remember where I work in real life, but was extremely hard to do so. Then a SP wave sets in, just like that. I waited a few minutes unable to move, then after 2 or 3 minutes I stand up and do a RC, I'm dreaming :). It wasn't a long dream, but it was a WILD. Success

That's awesome Andres! Whether those WILD's were on purpose or not, you're definitely doing something right. :D Maybe i'll get one tonight. I've been waking up after the sun's already up, and i just can't seem to WILD after the sun's up. So i need to start waking up around 4:30 or 5 AM to get a WILD. I really want one. Why do i allow my sleepiness to get the best of me!?

Day 5:

Success! I had my first nap WILD, and it was by accident. :D This is my second day of classes and i had my first class at 8 am so i got up this morning at 6:45 am. I was really sleepy by the time i got home so i laid down to take a nap. I dozed off a couple of times and when i woke up again, i decided to go back to sleep. All of a sudden a started to feel sp. The sp wasn't strong but the tinnitus that came with it was. I tried to do a VILD but it didn't work out, i still ended up in my bedroom once inside the dream. The dream was really unstable, i kept having to rub my hands together and doing nose pinch rc's. Anyway, i finally got a successful nap WILD! Since this happened during the day, maybe i'll get a success tonight too.

Day 6: Failure
Notes: Alarm instantiated DEILD. It would have worked wonderfully well, if not for the fact that the alarm looped. =/

Hey guys, I'm reading 'Exploring The World of Lucid Dreaming' and I read about a technique which relaxes your body. It is called the 61 Point Relaxation Technique. It is a well known technique, so I'm guessing you guys know what I'm talking about. I used it last night to fall asleep and worked like a charm. And I'm thinking of using it tonight to WILD, has anyone tried it with WBTB in order to WILD before?

I think i tried it with WILD before in the past, but i can't remember if it worked for me or not. I think I only used about 30 or so points, but i imagine it would work better with all 61. I love that book, it really helped me to learn alot about lucid dreaming.

As a side note, school is really killing my lding right now. I hate my early morning days!!!:mad:

Day 6:

I tried to take a nap after classes again, but i only got about 5 minutes asleep because something woke me up. It was hard to sleep with my miniature dachshund sleeping on my lap. Anyway, I had 2 episodes of sp right next to each other, both with Ellie still sleeping on my lap. I had almost lost consciousness but then i felt like there was something demonic in the room. I then felt someone had their knees mashing into my stomach and there fists mashing into my chest. I soon as i realized it was sp; I wasn't worried anymore, I just went along for the ride. I had experienced something like this before, but never with so much pressure. The pressure was so great that i could consider it a little painful. I didn't get into a dream after that sp, but i came out of it instead. After getting comfortable again, sp hit me again. This time i felt alot of pressure on my head, mostly on my bottom jaw. It was just like the other sp episode; the pressure was almost painful (it felt like my jaw was going to get dislocated). Then i heard a woman talking to me in japanese, she said "Watashi wa..." meaning, she started to say something about herself, but i don't remember what it was. Then I started to hear music. It was like a mix of haunted house, egyptian, and japanese music all together. It sounded really good, and then the woman i heard started singing a verse in japanese, but i couldn't understand it. Then my alarm brought me out of sp. The entire time all of this was going on, i could feel the pressure on my head and all i could see was darkness. This was a very interesting sp experience. I know that all of the japanese stuff came from me recently getting back into learning japanese, but i didn't think sp could be so complex. The song i heard was a song i had never heard before, i guess my mind made it up on the fly.

Anyway, i can't count this as a success, but i think it's progress. The day's not over yet, maybe i'll turn day 6 into a success tonight. :D

I had a little success this morning.
I woke up from a dream and rolled to my side, suddenly SP set in, just like that.
I waited about 30 seconds, then stood up and did a RC, I was dreaming, sadly about 10 seconds after, I woke up.

It's funny that this time that i got to sp and my last successful WILD attempt was when i least expected it. I thought, "I'm never going to get to sp. :(" As soon as that thought crossed my mind, sp hit me. :P

That's happened to me too! In fact, this morning after I woke up from my WILD I thought 'Damn, how am I gonna get SP again', and it actually set in again, except this time I couldn't make the transition.

Day 15:
Another success :D.
I woke up after a dream at about 6:00. In fact, I woke up too much. I had trouble going back to sleep, but in the process I kept reminded myself I would remember to realize I was dreaming (I'm starting to try MILD).
At about 6:45 I knew my chances of getting a sudden SP wave were high. However, I dozed off and had a short non-lucid dream.

I woke up from this dream and SP hit me. I couldn't make the transition yet because I could hear my dad talking (either he was really talking, or just HH). It was hard to stay in SP without making the transition, or losing SP. My whole body started shaking after 3 minutes of holding the SP. My teeth where chattering uncontrollably. Suddenly my dad stops talking and I'm able to make the transition. It was a fairly long WILD, I was happy with the results :).

Wow! Congrats again! You seem to be getting proficient at WILDing now.

I have to get up early on Friday, but this Saturday and Sunday, i'll get to sleep as late as i want. So this weekend will be a perfect time for me to get some good WILD attempts. I probably could have had a good WILD last night, but i fell asleep trying to figure out what i wanted to do if i was successful with my WILD. I never can make up my mind on my ld goals. :P

I know what you mean by not being able to know what to do in your LD's :P.
During my WILD this morning I wasn't sure of what I wanted to do, so I just started flying around and then decided I would go to Bora Bora, but then I had the urge to visit my friend who is into lucid dreaming to see if we could dream share. Me and my friend had a long conversation, but I haven't talked to him today to see if it was a shared dream or not XP

I will be attempting WILD tonight (I hope). I will report my results tomorrow

Day 16:
I woke up at 4:30, stayed up until 5:00, went back to sleep. I had a chain of short dreams, and then the SP wave hit me. I thought I was ready to get out of my dream bed, but when I opened my eyes they opened IRL life too

Day 17:

Double Success

I woke up at 4:30, just like yesterday, stayed up until 5 and went back to bed. I decided what I would like to do in my next lucid dream, and thought about it a couple of times.
Just as I expected, right before falling asleep, SP hit me and I was able to transition to the dream just by getting out of bed, my dream bed.
When the WILD ended, I DEILDed back into the dream. :shadewink:

Nice Andres! Your success rate is looking good. College is putting a hurt'n on my WILD attempts. The stress is kicking my butt right now. I'm starting to get back into the flow though. I had a nasty toothache the past two nights which is extremely distracting during a WILD attempt. It's hard to go inward with your focus while the pain is pulling it outward. Anyway, maybe i'll get a chance tonight; I have to get up early, so if not tonight, maybe the day after.

I already have a ld goal in mind, so if i'm successful; i'll report back! If my goal works out like it's supposed to, it should increase my overall ld rate...I hope. :D

Thank you Grim! I think I found what works for me :D! That is, wake up several hours into my sleep, stay awake for half an hour at least, then go back to sleep. It's simple enough :)
Yeah school makes it a little hard too for me, I gotta wake up earlier to write on my journal, and the alarm in the morning doesn't let me recall as many dreams as I could without the alarm. Well, I hope your goal works out for you, good luck ;)

Day 18:
Failure this time. Same procedure as always, woke up at 4:30 and stayed up until 5. Went back to sleep at 5. This time I fell asleep without noticing SP. Maybe I should vary the time in which I wake up. Maybe 5 am, or 5:30, dunno

I'm WILDing tonight :), succeeding at it.

Hey Andres! Don't sweat it. Your doing alot better than me. :) I keep meaning to try WILD, but it always seems to get pushed to the back burner with all the stuff life throws at me. Anyway, i'm planning on giving it an attempt tonight. I finally went to the dentist, so that pesky tooth that has been keeping me awake in the early morning hours won't be a hindrance anymore. Seeing a new post in this thread has given me a little boost of motivation too. :D I have a few new ideas for WILD thanks to Mzzkc's WILD guide. I'm just not sure how to implement them yet. Hope i don't keep myself awake trying to figure it out. :P

I wouldn't even call last night an attempt for me. I got distracted by my thoughts after only a minute after lying down to attempt. As a plus, i got a DILD out of this. Extremely clear and vivid, but i forgot to carry out my ld goal. Nothing else to do but to try again tonight and this time make it worth calling it an actual attempt.

SUCCESS :D:D:D!!!
I woke up at 4:30, stayed up until 5:00, went downstairs, got a glass of orange juice and ate a Vitamin C tablet, and went back to sleep
SP set in and I had a short WILD, but it was nice for breaking my dry spell ;)

Congrats on the success Andres! And yeah, it's always awesome to break a dry spell. I'm thinking of trying tonight, since i can sleep later on Monday and Wednesday nights. Hoping for a success too!

Day 20: Woke up at 4:30, stayed up for half an hour, went back to bed, fell asleep. No success
Day 21: Woke up at 4:30, turned my alarms off, instead of staying up for a while, I went right back to sleep, and started counting. I hadn't reached 10 when SP set in. I had a WILD, and later in the morning I had a DEILD. Double Success :)!

I have not had a WILD yet but I am starting to attempt one every night, so soon enough I should get good at them :)

I'm actually planning to attempt WILD two times per night, once less seriously when just going to bed, and then one MORE time in the middle of the night.
I've had WILDs before, but only four or five out of what seems like hundreds of attempts. I'm very interested in getting good at them. Determined really. I wish you all luck :)

You're all welcome to join, although you should get started with Phase 1 x)!

The difference is that in phase 1 every day counts, so basically you should be attempting everyday, after the 90 days you can start phase 2, in which you only count the days in which you actually attempt to WILD.

Day 22:
Success.
I woke up at 4:30, watched a scrubs episode until 5:00, then went back to sleep. SP set in and I had a short WILD, ended by a FA.
This is the first time I see something scary during SP. I saw Samara, from the Ring, staring at me, beside my bed. When I made the transition and was able to stand up, she was still there, I told her to get the fuck out, and she disapeared :D!

Hey Andres! congrats on the success! Feels like i haven't been on here in a quite a while. I've been going through end of the semester projects and exams. Just finished up the last exam today. So i'm officially on Christmas break now. Can't wait to get back to the WILDing attempts. I may try tonight, but it may not go very well; i've caught a cold or something, so WILDing might be kind of difficult. Hopefully i'll make progress since college will be out of the way for a while.

Thanks Grim! Yeah I'm busy with school as well =/, not getting as many lucids as I'd like :(. My christmas break starts on wednesday though, I'm hoping I'll get more lucids then!

Failure. Woke up at 4:30, watched some videos on youtube, went back to sleep at 5:00, fell asleep without SP or WILDing.

Success.
Became lucid in a dream, woke up, DEILDed back into the dream.
