what DOES it mean :?
okay, i lied :P
every time you get connect to your ISP you're given an IP which is (simplified down alot) a bunch of numbers seperated by a bunch of dots. mine right now is 172.200.255.233. no other computer in the world right now is also on the IP 172.200.255.233 (there are many exceptions to this rule but going into them is beyond the scope of this). my IP changes when i disconnect and reconnect, so somebody else will be 172.200.255.233 later today. if you type http://172.200.255.233 into your browser it will go to my computer, but you'll just get a "connection was refused" error because i have no webserver or anything running to handle your request (so it ignores it).
when you go to a page, your IP goes with it. phpBB logs your IPs.
so, therefore if kitty and paperdoll have a bunch of IPs that are the same, that means that either:
A) They are on the same ISP and were given the same number (at different times). This is unlikely but it still happens. If the IP's match often then this reason is usually nullified.
B) They use the same computer/internet connection.
or, finally:
C) They are the same person.
that's really simplified but basically what it means/what you care about. i could go into further detail but it would be pointless.
thanks Kaniaz
This is confusing, so is kittie11 and Paperdoll EP the same person? One big joke on his/her behalf to confuse the hell out of us?
i knew it was paperdoll no dares to insult paperdoll unless its paperdollQuote:

Kaniaz it isn't very good to give your IP address out.
*hacks into Kaniaz's computer*
Hmm... nothing worth stealing.... except the pictures of his animals.
*leaves*

penis
It doesn't really matter. Your IP is given out to every page. If crackers want your IP it's pretty simple to get it. You're logged wth it everywhere. Some security fanatic will scream "OH NO DON'T GIVE YOUR IP OUT" but it's hardly a ticket to be hacked. Hey, crackers, come over here! *jumps up and down* Right now it's 172.200.255.233. *nothing happens*Quote:
